Kathy Bernier, Wisconsin Republican Who Criticized Big Lie, Will Retire

Any chance of a Dem winning her spot, or will a new Trumpanzee have a lock on it?

So 50 years of cheating and rat fucking elections got to be too much, now the motherfuckers are just going to declare themselves the winners?

Armbands will be handed out this afternoon at 300pm in local public schools. Anyone who doesn’t show up will be shot.

“Hey be a real shame if you won the election and your kids got sick, wouldn’t it?”

I actually worked as a Page for the Wisconsin State Senate, when I was a student at UW beginning in 1975 and saw similar events, a member bucks their Party and winds up resigning for a better paying job.

That is currently a Wisconsin State Senator makes about $50,000 plus some per diem when the legislature is in session and they have to stay in Madison. When a Party, usually but not always the Republican Party, wanted for some reason a different Senator in that position they bribe a member into leaving by getting them a better paying job with less travel, perhaps less power, but again better pay, don’t have to run for office, and just a better job.

The result is the person bucking their Party gets what they want, an easy job the pays much better, and the Party gets a yes person for legislative action. I would be surprised if other states do not work the same. In Wisconsin, while it was not a “common event” I can name 5 times, 4 Republicans and one Democrat, it happened to between 1975 and 1988, when I left Wisconsin for good and stopped keeping a close watch on the State Senate.

no one has forced me out and politics has not played a role in my decision

I wonder why all these Republicans purged from the GOP continue to insist that they weren’t purged.

It’s part of the exit package, right next to the part where it says how awful it’d be if their house burned down. By accident. Oops.

50,000? Maine is 15,000. There are graduate students making more money. This weights the legislature toward wealthy or retired people.

Too bad. She is probably sick of the lies from her own party. I remember when Wisconsin used to hold people accountable.

She is sixty-five and probably remembers “when Wisconsin used to hold people accountable.”

Now, yes. There just aren’t that many left to oust from the party.

OT-no new developments, but the GA D.A. is commenting on their investigation. Summary: work IS underway, more to come in the next 6 months, no one is off the hook yet.

Last night on CNN there was a segment (whole hour) on Trump’s GOP. ALL they interviewed (Jake Tapper) were GOPers who said bad things about Trump and bad things about the people still contesting the election.

I was looking at Ginsberg (the GOP superlawyer) and just kept thinking: when did the party YOU worked for so diligently for 50yr or so become THIS? Stuart Stevens, another lifelong GOPer, wrote a book titled It Was All A Lie.( [Anti-Vax Leader Urges Followers to Drink Their Own Urine to Fight COVID (thedailybeast.comhttps://www.amazon.com/Was-All-Lie-Republican-Became/dp/0525658459) and says it was all organic that Trump became the GOP.

HOW did Ginsberg and Stevens and Frum etc etc ETC ‘not’ notice what was going on? What they had signed up for? The people at The Bulwark ‘are’ telling the truth as they see it. But I want to know WHEN they think this all ‘began’ or WHEN did they notice that they were members of a fascistic party?

Yes but at least then the enemy will be clearly delineated. A solid band of orcs, nothing worth sparing among them.

The rest just fall in line and keep their claps shut.
