I listened to some large segments. When asked about how he would cut government spending, he went into his long winded anecdote from 2017 about what a tough deal he drove to cut the cost of Air Force One. It was a tour de force of old man babbling and a dementia patient confabulation.

As soon as Trump arrived in the rustic barn with its wood panels, he received rapturous applause. Throughout the town hall hosted by Harris Faulkner, questioners seemed enraptured by him.
“I feel like when he when he came out, everybody was so excited to see him and his enthusiasm,” Emily Harris told The Independent. “It was just great to be in the room with him.”
And there was good reason, given that many of the attendees in an intimate setting were from Republican groups around the area whom Fox News invited.

He’s one of the few, or maybe the only one I’ve seen push back on conspiracies and pure bullshit on the network. I’m thinking he knows Harris has a good chance to win, and he wants to retain access for future interviews when she’s President.
So it won’t be what most of the Fox audience wants. Just a normal “tough questions” interview and not a MAGA-palooza. And then he’d better go into hiding for the next few weeks after the interview.

I’m not sure. Some young people who actually believe the “Send the Democrats a message” rhetoric might sit up and go “Whuh?” But the voters who choose 3rd party to escape blame for the events that follow won’t care.
