That is a good question, and also possibly part of a legal defense.
My impression of the man, formed over five decades, is that he does know. He does not care, but I think he does know – and does delight in his innumerable transgressions of common morality, norms, and laws.
I assume you’ve considered and rejected the evidence in favor of my position.

Nobody at the Federal level will step up. Quarantine protection will be up to individuals and state governments. I have friends & family in Fla and Tx who’re smart and aware. Their attitude is “Come near me without a mask and I’ll squirt you with Lysol.”

I was recently watching a couple of Saturday night live best of episodes from October 2000 that they were running. The Bush Gore skits played into the false narrative that became the conventional wisdom as them being pretty much the same. As we all know it simply wasn’t the case.

Hmmm… it’s pretty reptilian, whatever it is. I think he responds to stimuli: “useful to me” or “not useful to me.” His accuracy rate on selecting actual benefit is better in the short term than the long term.

Likely you are right. He delights is doing what’s wrong because it’s wrong, and that no one can stop him. It’s his delight in the “no one can stop him” part that’s been killing me these years.
