As @Pluckingenius said, if convicted, there will be joy. If he isn’t convicted, the Right will celebrate that the Left has, again, done overreach and couldn’t get the conviction because the kid did nothing wrong.
The families of the victims (F the judge on denying the term during the trial) will not have joy. Their loved ones are gone (just as my father was after the police cruiser slammed into my parents’ car 23 years ago) and there’s no bringing them back.
Yes, if the kid receives true justice, maybe, just maybe the families will get some peace. But I’m not sure they’re going to get what they should for relief.
They should be given their walking papers by sundown today. And whoever it was that thought it was a good idea (if not one of these two), they should be gone by sundown today too.
Thursday late morning the judge addressed Kenosha PD’s report. The judge confirmed that Wednesday evening the person was instructed by an Irene Byon who works in New York for MSNBC/NBC. The judge said the matter is very serious and nobody from MSNBC will be allowed in court for the remainder of trial.
There might be justice but there won’t be any joy for any one close to the victims and Rittenhouse. The only people who will be joyous are the media ghouls and their avid listeners who live for this kind of misery.
Fox is hardly covering the McMichael/Bryan trial, it doesn’t . Since its just another example of white racists lynching a black man, it is a bit embarrassing for their audience, no angertainment value.
Me too. I don’t give two shits how the right may feel afterward and they don’t care how we feel about it either. In just about every single trial ever, there is usually one side who is elated by the verdict and the other side not so much. That’s the nature of a trial.
The people who will; be joyous if he’s convicted are those who believe in the rule of law and that vigilantism of this sort should not be tolerated. Also, those of us who’ve watched this judge attempt to give this kid every break fathomable will be joyous to see that justice prevailed despite his attempts to undermine it. And I imagine the families of the victims will feel vindicated to have received some measure of justice after their murdered loved ones have had their reputations dragged through the mud.

Well, the jury may well be debating some kind of compromise verdict. But if you look at the five remaining charges against Rittenhouse, all are felonies. A conviction on ANY of them will likely put him in state prison for awhile. A conviction of “Conduct regardless of life” (which resulted in deaths) or “Reckless homicide” are not misdemeanors, and either would be likely to result in incarceration.
The weapons charge (the only misdemeanor charged) was dismissed before jury instructions.
