Judge Sides With Gov’t In Dispute With Russian Company Over Mueller Discovery | Talking Points Memo

It was on my ignore list but still…

Sometimes when I read a headline with “Sides With Gov’t” in it I too don’t know if we’re talking about tRump’s thoroughly corrupted DoJ under Barr or older prosecutors that are still working on behalf of the Mueller farm team. Its even hard for me to tell from reading the article. I’ll wait for someone to come along that has a better understanding of this stuff or wait for Maddow to read the court transcripts on her show. She is a good 'splainer on this crap.

There’s not a decent thread tonight!

With all due respect, the “gov’t” is the “ttump admin” these days.
Ask all the USDA, FBI, DNI and State Dept etc. employees who were pushed out.

Bad headline. Possible alt: Judge decides with Gov’t not to allow Discovery to Russian firm. (?)

I agree.

And that’s part of the job: upholding our values while dealing with people who have less than zero respect for same.

Anyhow, I’m out.

You have a great evening.

Everyone else, too.

It’s a poorly written article with a soft lede and a lousy hed.

Shocking.

Sad, isn’t it. Someone from the government -Executive Branch or any Republican- starts talking now and you can’t really believe them until provided proof.

RM was pissed last night over those raids. Actions speak louder than words, tht was her message for the night. And she didn’t have those pictures from the El Paso hospital, I don’t believe.

Yes! The picture that accompanies this article looks like it is straight off the set from The Godfather.

Sadly, what is going on here is far, far worse.

I give it one or two scaramuccis. That’s about how long it takes to confirm an AG.

Completely OT but … trump is mulling who to choose for DNI now that Dan Coats and his #2 are out. One of the names floated brought me up short: Peter Hoekstra who is known in some circles as The Human Colander" for his inability to keep from leaking classified material.
Oy!

OT: I’ve been trying this “ad free” version of TPM. No chum box! I am completely sold on this website model.

Unbelievable.

A. Marie Villafaña, the lead federal prosecutor who helped negotiate a controversial plea deal for accused sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, has submitted her resignation to the Justice Department, the Miami Herald has learned.

The Herald has learned that several people involved in the Epstein case have been questioned by the Justice Department in recent weeks as part of its ongoing OPR investigation.

Jonathan Biran, Villafaña’s lawyer, confirmed her resignation Thursday, noting that she has long planned to transition to a legal career in healthcare, and now plans to join the federal Department of Health and Human Services.

Hi. I don’t believe it’s the left who has lost their sanity. It’s awful, to be sure, but we’re sane. It’s the Republicans that won’t be able to deal in the near future.
I will, however, lose my cool entirely if these jackasses in the WH (since the beginning) do not suffer consequences of their betrayal to our country.

Are they willing to risk their lives?

Maybe it’s not so much insanity as it is PTSD that I’ll be suffering from for the foreseeable future. And that’s assuming that this all ends in 2020 or I won’t even make the “P” in PTSD.

Agreed that we’ll all lose it if these traitorous criminals get away with everything. There must be consequences and they must be so severe that it’s a long time before some cabal of idiots tries this again.

Oh, and welcome!

Sure. No dispute about that. What I mean is that as I recall, TPM rarely referred to the ttump admin as “the gov’t”, especially when the issues involved were very partisan or trumpian, like voting rights. Seems to me it always used “gov’t” on more neutral things like lawsuits against foreigners. I just wonder if it was done on purpose (though it might be a false impression of mine).

Generations, like the Israelites wandering in the Sinai wilderness.

Funny, I had exactly the same response.

I wonder why?

SAD!

Just a coincidence, I’m sure.

After all, what “lead federal prosecutor” wouldn’t jump at the chance to break into the exciting field of healthcare law. Plus, a chance to work with the legendary Ben Carson?

Who wouldn’t jump at an opportunity like that?

Interesting but its now for many its water under the bridge now. A whole lot of people a breathing a sigh of relief this morning.

Breaking: Jeffrey Epstein conveniently committed suicide today.

You could say he spared a lot of people further scrutiny and much deeper inquiry including all the people that let him off the hook and took his calls over the years.

Something doesn’t add up here. The man was under suicide watch in lock up after his last attempt. How did he manage to do this if that’s case?
