Judge Orders More Disclosure In Manning Case | Talking Points Memo

Denise Lind, the judge overseeing the hearing of Wikileaks suspect PFC Bradley Manning, has ordered the prosecution to hand over crucial documents to the defense, namely the State Department’s preliminary damage assessment of the leaks. According to lead prosecutor Major Ashden Fine, the FBI gave 3,475 documents pertaining to Manning’s case to the prosecution. So far, they have presented the defense with 636. Fine called the judge’s order a “tactic to slow this prosecution down.” Lind disagreed. “I’m not interested in trying this case before the defense has a chance to prepare,” she said.
