Every time a new murdering Trumper comes out of the closet the GOP takes a hit. It’s the cumulative effect, after a while even his supporters realize they could get caught in the crossfire.

This is what is meant by white-privilege. I try to articulate this to the very few conservative friends I have left. White-privilege is the mind-set that a person is entitled to success simply because they are white. And if they aren’t, they do not own their own failures and shortcomings, they blame everyone else. Trump, and others you mentioned, came along and empowered them…gave them permission to scapegoat… essentially saying to them, “You’re right! it’s not your fault! It’s the Jews! It’s the Blacks (Trump’s words), it’s the Mexicans (everyone from Central America is Mexican) and Muslims! If you’re not successful, it’s NOT because you’re a f*ck up, it’s because of THEM!” Yet, inevitably, my few conservative friends still find a way to internalize it, take it personally, and lose their shit when they hear those two words.
You want to infuriate a conservative…invoke the words white privilege. Then, sit back and enjoy.

In any event, you’re right that not having to house this seething ball of omnidirectional rage is probably a lot safer for his mom.

and they slavishly watch and listen to these Reich-Wing outlets, initially, due to “Confirmation Bias” (something that exists on the Progressive side too.)
After a few years of hourly indoctrination, they become unable to see/hear anything else, shutting out everything contrary to their own viewpoint (which has been spoon-fed to them over the years) as “FAKE NEWS”.
Further and further down the rabbit-hole of “deep, dark, conspiracies” they go until they hit rock bottom, and are unable to recognize “reality” when they see it. When it smacks them in the face, they react violently (as they have been programmed to) and see no problem with killing the objects (they do not see them as people anymore) of their impotent anger.
It’s classic “brain washing”.
You think those NAZIs aren’t closet homos.? Have you every seen the tight jeans, linesman boots-wearing Ayrans? And aren’t they obsessed with gay men? They hate the gays clubs (because they want to enter and shake their groove thangs) and want to beat up (read: feel up) gay men. Such an obsession is a sure sign of self-hating. 
Yeah, there was this guy from GA that was arrested in KY with a trunk-load full of guns and ammo and a tranny video…
