Judge Orders Eastman To Prove That He Has A Real Reason To Assert Attorney-Client Privilege Over Trump Docs

Congrats to txlawyer for giving consistently useful legal information on this whole issue.

It looks as if Eastman’s attorneys are just claiming privilege on anything, and everything, that they can in the hope of getting lucky or, at minimum, playing for time.

Way OT, but damn if this isn’t the state of much of America (and much of the world.)

Of course, I have no idea what Prince Andrew’s involvement in all that actually was, but whenever I hear people say that #MeToo has gone too far, I think of the Epstein saga: proof that for all the progress of the past decade, a coterie of rich and powerful men can take part in a trafficking and procurement network for years, and still get off scot-free.

Should be a simple matter of producing a contract. Legal advice for coup-plotting.

I’m not up on my attorney client privilege law, but my understanding is that the privilege does not attach when the attorney is attempting to help the client commit a crime. That’s just a straight up criminal conspiracy, and the fact that one of the conspirators is a lawyer just makes it a little juicier

Andrew will make a “substantial” donation to Giuffre’s charity for victims’ rights.

as in very, very, very “SUBSTANTIAL” …???

No, it was just preemptively claiming victimhood because he and everybody else expected he was going to lose. There was no plot for him to steal the 2016 election. If there had been one, they’d have been openly bragging about it, just like they did in the days and weeks leading up to J6.

I’ve said since COVID was coupled with Pandemic that things “will never go back to ‘normal’”. Once it was revealed that the virus mutated, that there were different strains out there that this would be something to manage and not cure. Especially when vaccine deniers or those hesitant to take the vaccine formed opposition to the vaccine.
And let’s not forget that we made adaptions and changes in how we navigated our lives during lock downs, post lock downs, high rates of transmissions, and the subsequent high rates of hospitalizations. Some of those adaptions will become part of our new normal.

Well now we have what the judge is requiring so he will have to establish a relationship for every claim of privilege he is making. The judge will accept most documents that might attest to an attorney-client relationship including affidavits from the parties.

Sounds like a coach. Drop and give me 20 for every instance of privilege you’re claiming, Eastman.

Eastman is well and truly fucked.

hahahahahahahaha well clearly the judge is not amused.

Is it really privileged if the client and the attorney are both involved in a conspiracy? I thought not.

Sounds a bit dubious, even.

Dubious enough I hope to make Eastman sweat.

Rudy is cooperating. I hope that gives TFG a stroke.
