The chief judge of D.C.’s federal court ordered the Justice Department on Friday to turn over to the House the portions of the special counsel Robert Mueller’s report that were redacted due to grand jury secrecy as well as those sections’ underlying grand jury transcripts or exhibits.
Don’t get too excited. This will be appealed to the DC Circuit. That will, on a fast track basis, take at least two months. And then on to the Supreme Court.
What Congress needs to do is once Trump appeals ask the Supreme Court to take the case immediately … but I would expect that any decision will come down on the last day of their term, June 30.
