The D.C. federal judge overseeing ex-President Donald Trump’s lawsuit against the House Jan. 6 select committee quickly rejected Trump’s latest attempt to block the National Archives from handing over White House records to the committee.
Is there really serious shit in these documents? or is this just the self-identified King of the Planet waving his tiny fist in the air while screaming “respect my authority”
I think everyone, including TFFFG, should get ready to be disappointed…
Let’s remember previous statements by YouKnowWho (because he forgot them):
“I am no fan of Bill Cosby but nevertheless some free advice — if you are innocent, do not remain silent. You look guilty as hell!”
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) [November 20, 2014]
At 75 years old, poor Li’l Donnie never faced such discipline. It’s about time, but you can’t change spots on a leopard (or an unrepentant asshole, for that matter).
Requesting the judge to stay in a ruling she has not issued yet is an attempt to goad the judge into overreaction as a basis for appeal. It’s an act of desperation.
In the fictional film The Verdict, the outcome of the case depends upon plaintiff’s counsel Frank Galvin (Paul Newman) finding the right witness, whose identity and even existence the defense had tried to keep secret.
OK it is now November 9, 2021 … how can it be further assured that the window stays open?
given that the National Archives is expected to release the documents by Friday, November 12th…
would it have been better to have let this request languish … and then squash it on Friday afternoon …
what would be wonderful would be for all of the toxic damning documents to make their way out into a near infinite number of news outlets - and start buzzing about the whole world - with no way to undo them …
It certainly sounds promising. We’ll see. Even if a release of documents actually goes forward though none of it will be made public unless it’s leaked. Baby steps I guess.
Seems to me the ruling should leave a minimum of time before the deadline when the documents will be turned over. tfg’s lawyers will have to be sitting around (billing hours all the time) waiting to send their pre-written emergency request for a stay on appeal. (Bonus if the ruling is written in a way that renders the pre-written request and the pre-written appeal nonsensical.)
Why spend trillions in SSBNs, strategic bombers and aircraft carriers, when you can just encourage Americans to elect an imbecile, hoard guns and start killing each other.
