Thomas Provenzano suffered from delusions, including the sincere belief he was Jesus Christ. Nonetheless, Florida executed him on June 20, 2000.
James Willie Brown was diagnosed as paranoid schizophrenic, experienced hallucinations, and sincerely believed the voice of G-d directed his actions. Nonetheless, Georgia executed him on November 4, 2003.
Kelsey Patterson suffered from paranoid schizophrenia, and sincerely believed that electronic devices had been implanted in his body to control his behavior. Nonetheless, Arkansas executed him on January 6, 2004.
They all had sincere beliefs to justify their actions, yet none of them walked.

Simmons added at the hearing that “right, wrong, or indifferent,” many in Michigan “sincerely believe, for some reason, that there were some serious irregularities with the election, or with the voting, and that somehow their candidate didn’t receive all the votes that was intended to for them.”
You know, if ignorance of the law is no excuse, then shouldn’t ignorance of the facts also be no excuse?
This crazy judge is giving these idiots the benefit of the doubt for their presumed sincere belief that their were irregularities in the election. But does she really believe that these same idiots truly believed that they were the legitimate electors?
Anyone can believe anything they want, but when they start taking illegal actions based on their incorrect beliefs, then they’ve crossed the line.
If that asshole around the block sincerely believes the falsehood that that strip of grass in front of my house, between the sidewalk and the street, is public property, then I guess that this judge would allow him to continue to let his dog shit on it. I say, “Let your dog shit on this judge.”

This is just another example of what MAGA corruption looks like. These folks don’t even feel it is necessary to go through motions of pretending to be responsible to the Constitution anymore. Any BS excuse that makes dark satire of democratic norms will suffice.

Why do I have the feeling that the overriding consideration for “sincere belief” was that it was a sincere belief in Trump or Magahood that was critical. A sincere belief in a Democratic president would have been dismissed. Anyway no one has ever been shown to put together a slate of fake electors for a Democrat, at least in modern history.
