The first time I read it, I figured it was lifted verbatim from the party platform.

This was the head of one the state’s political parties. Civil Rule 11 Sanctions should have applied - not just paying attorney fees to Detroit for having to defend it. Without that hammer, these clowns will do it again.

Maybe Detroit did not warn the perpetrators that they would seek sanctions earlier - that would make it harder to ask for that additional punishment.
