The president is a totem of sorts â Trumpâs initial appeal was tied up in the fact he played a rich guy and many folks thought it would rub off on them. I believe most MAGA voters really do get off on seeing him inflicting cruelty on others, and so actually did vote for this. It is fatuous as a legal argument, but is a telling admission on Velchikâs part.

Iââm a little surprised the ACLU isnât all over this case. Seems pretty cut and dried - either he didnât actually violate this 2024 law or the law itself violated 1A. Actionable threats need to be clear and specific, not inferred based on some third partyâs irrationally twisted knickers.
