I’m trying to think that if DonOLD wins on this ruse of absentee ballots what will his next step be? Will we all have to re-register to vote? Will they want to require all kinds of paperwork?

Please stop conflating absentee voting with mail-in voting. They are not the same.
Mail-in voting is set up by states for everyone to sign up for, whether they’re absent or not.
Absentee voting is for people who are absent, due to travel, military service, etc.
You don’t need to give a reason when signing up for mail-in voting. For absentee voting, they ask your reason.

Trump worships only money and power, not God. That many evangelicals consider him ordained by God to rule the United States (and the world) is grotesque nonsense. He and his family will be corrupt pariahs until the end of their days, as they should be.

I don’t think that “evangelicals consider him ordained by God to rule the US…”, I think evangelicals are supporting him because they want to quicken the Rapture. They want to force the Rapture that God promised. And of course they will be swiftly transported to Heaven.

Are members of congress protected by the speech and debate clause when they are on talk shows? Mike Johnson just accused the Democratic Party of systematic cheating in elections during a talk show interview. Since this would be a crime, that is defamation per se… I think… IANAL. Could he be sued over this in this super litigious moment in our history…?

Yes, they’re doing a lot of work to prove that they shouldn’t have to do a lot of work.
He will claim that since he is President, aka Commander-in-Chief, he is in the military.
And thus allowed to vote by mail. Because… reasons.

In Ohio, absentee and “mail-in” voting are the same thing. You don’t have to state a reason on the absentee ballot application. I don’t know about other states. The Administration wants to break that.
And here’s the problem. The Bible Thumpers seem to believe that they can force God to do something. Really?

Yep, and they’re ignoring Matthew 24:36 and Mark 13:32. But Thumpers don’t seem to have the sway to talk directly to the Big Guy, but they’re pretty sure that they will be on the first Rapture flight.
