Back in the day (and that day ended in the Carter administration) I fabricated roachclips with carefully bent and trimmed cotter pins and small aluminum sleeves.

Neither will I. I was Mr. Rice’s age in the early 70’s growing up just outside of NYC in a suburban middle-upper middle class fairly Rockefeller Republican town. Me and my friends would take our Daisy BB/pellet rifles(NRA approved!) into the neighborhood public park and the wooded preserve and practiceshooting at cans and targets on trees. If the town or park police drove by and saw us they knew what what going on. Just kids enjoying the outdoors, no harm, no foul.
In the same park plenty of teens sat around musing about the world; being, well, teens. They drank beer or something stronger or maybe sparked a joint. The most intrusive thing the police ever did was to tell you to pour out your beer or tell you to leave the park when it was late. Their guns were left in the holster. You figure a kid of grade school age in a public park playing with a toy gun would immediately set off a bell in their heads and cause them to ask a few questions before precipitously jumping out of the car and shooting the lad.
Oh and that cop who shot him. He was fired but somehow ended up being hired by another police department. The revolving door of stupid.

Trump has those suggestions under advisement. After consultations with Putin he’ll make a decision.

This sort of nonsense makes me wonder - do these bozos process the fact that crowds cheer them because they get up on a stage and act like an idiot?

Idea for a 2028 campaign commercial. Have a giant pencil with its eraser flying around DC removing the Trump name on the buildings where he was unauthorized to place it. Along with a video generated restoration of the East Wing and removal of the faux gold decorations. Call it the purging and restoration of normality.

I remember these things from when I was a kid in the 60s.

Some places (like banks) had signs up indicating Fallout Shelter

I would prefer Putin’s head on a pike to be displayed preserved in Lenin’s tomb at Red Square.

Israel has strategic nuclear arms including sub-based ICBMs. The leadership of Iran knows that if Iran set off a nuke in Tel Aviv, Tehran and a few other cities in Iran would become glowing glass parking lots within minutes.

The reason Iran wants nukes is the reason most countries in conflict areas do, because it makes outsider invasion and takeover impossible. It’s not because they want to wipe Israel off the map because they know what the response would be.

The reason Israel refuses to allow Iran to have nukes isn’t just for survival reasons, it’s also because if Iran gets nukes, then the Saudis would get them too, and maybe Qatar and Egypt. That’s not good for anyone in the Middle East because it increases the potential for one country to do something reckless or accidental that starts a regional Armageddon.
