White House’s After-the-Fact Justification For Ban Falls Apart Overnight, U.S. district court judge Timothy Kelly granted the temporary restraining order sought by three news organizations — MS NOW, Politico and CNN — that President Donald Trump had “banned” from the White House. Something else to be aware of (esp folks in PA, like @kelaine ):

In 2011, Drexel University acquired the Academy of Natural Sciences, the oldest Natural History Museum in the Americas. At the beginning of the month, they announced they’d be closing it at the end of the month.

This is an irreplaceable facility, with one of the most amazing collections in existence, including 73,000 holotype specimens.

Milo explains it better, overall:

Why would he eject and condemn his family and friends who hold the same views as him?

Re the White House ban, at least the administration’s inability to do most anything really well helps those who are pushing back. Cite yourself as an improper leak! Remember that comic bit, “Can you keep a secret?” “Yes.” “But who’s that standing next to you?” “Well, that’s you.” “Yes, but can I be trusted?”

Gotta say I’m impressed with Kansas attempting to protect its meat packers and students. I lived in Kanas from 2000 to 2014, and rarely saw this industry act on behalf of its workers.

The ICE activity is probably costing them production, as their workers don’t show up. You can be certain the bastards are acting on behalf of their profits, not on behalf of their workers.

Today’s EV consists of a very energetic and thorough debunking of the “election-process porn” that’s been getting a lot of play lately. It is good and also suggests that the reason why we are seeing so much of it is to de-sensitize us to the much lesser attacks on voting that actually are being rolled out.

In any event, we absolutely understand why people are anxious, and why pieces like this exist. But it remains the case—and we have written this many, many times—that it is orders of magnitude easier to steal an election before the votes are cast rather than after. This is particularly true with the parade of incompetents that is the current leadership of the GOP.

Just vote, rideshare and/or poll watch.

Mike’s envious. I bet I am far from alone among cis women in having a crush on Ossoff. I suspect Ossoff is like Clark Gable in appealing to cis men as well as cis women. And I wouldn’t be surprised if Ossoff’s sex appeal extended beyond cis world. Mike probably hopes this ad will suggest Ossoff isn’t “manly” enough for Georgians, a la what the Paxton campaign has tried to do with Talarico. The ad is too silly to work and, besides, just listen to Ossoff’s voice and the cadences of his speech.

From Chris Geidner overnight:

BREAKING: The Trump administration’s third-country removal policy is blocked.

The policy — effectively blessed by the U.S. Supreme Court on the shadow docket in June 2025 — has allowed the Trump administration to quickly deport people to countries where they have are not citizens and have no other legal status.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit stated Wednesday night that the final judgment from U.S. District Judge Brian Murphy in D.V.D. v. DHS — a case challenging the administration’s use of third country removals — is back in effect.

“Consistent with this court’s September 18, 2026, Judgment, the March 16, 2026, stay pending appeal is dissolved,” the appeals court ordered.

The “clarification” was sought on Wednesday in the wake of last week’s opinion from the First Circuit affirming much of Murphy’s final judgment as the Trump administration was still seeking to effectuate more third country removals this week.

Gillian Brockell had covered the continued effort at The American Prospect earlier Wednesday.
