My question is …how much more “in your face” does corruption need to be for Congress to act. Here we have a “slush fund of $1,776”. Am I now to assume naked and public corruption is expected and approved of?

Never. They know that without trump’s cult, the GOP is electorally fucked.
Would be …ahem…interesting to see Congress actually call trump to account one day (of course it would need to be in an alternate universe and timeline)
I have watched politics since Eisenhower’s time and never have I seen a person as far beyond the reach of any law as trump is. He gets the Navy to kill men in boats that "might " have drugs aboard. He starts a war without Congress. And so much more…
The GOP deserves to disband and go away… leaving only the cult.

The next DoJ needs to formally charge the RNC for Fraud Against the United States in nominating a grifter like Trump to the Presidency in 2024 AFTER he was found to be a felon and found by the Bi-partisan Jan. 6th Committee to be a traitor and an insurrectionist. The remedy sought would be the formal and permanent dissolution of the Republican Party as legal entity for political activities. The party will be dead anyway, but this would insure that they could never run another criminal traitor for any office or position of trust.

They will ignore the judge and do whatever they want. That is the most likely outcome based on past actions.
