Johnson: “They added these completely undeliverable conditions to the negotiation."
And what was that “completely undeliverable condition”? Obey the law.
If we had just a mediocrely functioning press, none of this would be happening.

I’d venture Doritos sauce; but, we all know Mr. Mike would never eat anything that even purports to be Mexican.
Burchett Says He Is Still Undecided
Pure unmitigated B.S. Burchett is a yes and he knows that he is a yes but felt the need to lie.
Is one of them the woman on maternity leave who already dragged her infant across the country once for a ‘can’t miss vote’? Not disrespecting her or criticizing her at all because I can’t remember her name, but her name’s not the point, is it? She’s not the problem, is she?
Also a D MoC from Texas died suddenly.
Seems a stretch, but wouldn’t it be nice if the CR could be defeated and the stunt of sending the House home to avoid dealing with any Senate changes is a dud. Makes them look a little foolish, no?
What happened to immigrants eating dogs and cats?
What happened to no tax on tips?
What happened to no tax on Social Security?
What happened to solving the Russia/Ukraine war within 24 hours?
What happened to no tax on overtime?
What happened to interest on car loans being tax deductible?
Johnson isn’t going to call a vote unless he knows he has the votes. This is all theater again. It never ends with House GOPs and CRs.
Good on De Lauro and Murray for teeing up a short term CR!
Meant to post this here but had too many tabs open
When a Fox reporter -Chad Pergram- calls out the Speaker wrt to the CR, the Speaker continues to blame Democrats because he cannot pass the thing without them.
You continually criticized the Democrats,” Pergram noted. “Doesn’t that imply that you don’t have the votes on your side because you wouldn’t need Democratic assistance to keep the government open?
“No, we’ll have the votes. We’re going to pass the CR. We can do it on our own,” Johnson insisted despite reporting that a number of House Republicans are currently planning to vote against it. “But what I’m saying is Democrats ought to do the responsible thing, follow their own advice in every previous scenario, and keep the government open. It’s their choice.”
How is it a continuing resolution if it has changes and isn’t a continuation of funding?
“On these tough ones, I sweat it out ’til the last minute,” Rep. Burchett (R-TN) told a handful of reporters outside the House chamber.
What, he’s the designated ‘cliff hanger,’ meant to keep reporters on site and out of the bars until leadership has had a chance to say their lines after the vote’s done?
a number of other Republicans remain undecided as of Tuesday morning — even after hearing a pitch from Vice President Vance — including Reps. Tim Burchett (Tenn.), Kat Cammack (Fla.), Beth Van Duyne (Texas) and Rich McCormick (Ga.).
Reps. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-Pa.) and Cory Mills (R-Fla.) previously said they were undecided, and Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-Texas) has told reporters he will make a “game-time decision” on whether to support the measure.
Potential Democratic absences, however, could alter that margin, giving Johnson more breathing room. Rep. Raúl Grijalva (D-Ariz.), for example, has been out of Washington for weeks following a cancer diagnosis.
Any Democratic support for the legislation would also help Johnson get the measure over the finish line. Moderate Democratic Reps. Jared Golden (Maine) and Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (Wash.) would not say how they plan to vote on the measure when asked by The Hill Monday evening.
And no mention of the “extra vote wiggle room” for Sylvester Turner - the Dem from TX - who died after Trump’s speech.
With the price of eggs, they’re in the crapper now that Donnie’s been elected and the looting and vengeance have been given first priority.
Called Schumer’s DC office twice today. Might have sounded unhinged just now after reading about them coming out of their lunch meeting “stone faced”
“It is not a simple stop gap that keeps the lights on, the doors open,” she said of the bill. “This is Republican leadership handing over the keys to the government and a blank check to Elon Musk, and to President Trump.”
As far as Democrats messaging, I’d say this is pretty damn good.
Mushroom sauce…
Ew!
Yeah I thought the GQP had a bit more room as dead guy can’t vote.
Republican Majority Leader Not Sure Why Anyone Is Worried About DOGE
(Left unsaid)… because we are already so fucked there’s no sense in worrying about anything.
