“Obama is a Muslim,” Walsh tweeted in December 2016, adding, “Happy New Year!”
In March 2017, Walsh tweeted that the country held Obama “to a lower standard cuz he was black.” Months later, Walsh made a similar remark about Sen. Kamala D. Harris (D-Calif.), stating, “If you’re black & a woman, you can say dumb things. Lowered bar.”
August 25, 2019: “But, God, I didn’t mean any of it.”

Trump is such an obscenity to the country and the body politic that he’s made Walsh marginally acceptable?
Actually, I think he’s in this weird limbo where he’s completely unacceptable to Democrats but not racist or bigoted enough for Republicans. And he’s been plenty racist, as you point out.

I am curious as to who he thinks would support him; not the “elite” Never Trumpers certainly. However, I would welcome a challenge from a turnip at this point.

Obviously this isn’t super meaningful in electoral-politics terms. And I think most sensible people have little regard for this loon. But it’s refreshing to have another voice loudly yelling, right in the middle of the arena, that Trump’s unfit. And it’s interesting to me that he sees a benefit to him from this.
