I’m sure Trump is hoping to use his candidacy to interfere with attempts to prosecute him.
Trump is 100% about destroying systems that oppose him, and one of the best weapons to use against an immovable object (the courts) is an unstoppable force (Republican pursuit of the White House).

Hopefully, the judges are on to his delay tactics. The times from appeals to decisions seems to be shortening. We are all sick of his shtick. This first case today may give us information about what we can expect from him going forward but he cannot refuse to show up for a criminal trial. May they take a long time and keep him squirming in the court room with no chance of escape. He cannot help but screw himself. It is his nature.

My wise and wonderful wife said this morning, all Joe needs to say is, “I got this, life is calmer now, there is no drama, let’s stop the hate, and I’ve been around and know how to get things done.” Not a dramatic or star studded message, but it’s the damn truth. He has a good Cabinet and that’s what matters in the end. Four years ago I came to Joe’s defense, saying he was the calm we needed after the fucking storm of the fat fuck. I stand by that still and will say that, since the fat fuck is still in the running, Joe is still what we need. No betting on a dark horse at this point. Go with the one with the best odds and the team in place. And, he is only a few years older than me, and I still work a 60-hour week for our veterans and I can still think straight and I am just fucking fine. So in the words of Logan Roy, “fuck off” with the ageist shit.

The idea of a get sh*t done staffer to lead the campaign is a promising one but the article provides more platitudes than evidence of tangible achievements. Her leading role in Harris’ shambling Presidential campaign isn’t a great sign. And her famous grandpa was known more as a charismatic leader than for getting stuff done.

She was tasked with mobilizing and coordinating teams from various branches and levels of government in response to emergencies, national disasters, and the pandemic. She seems battle-tested.
