I’m asking this out of ignorance: Do officers of the court have a greater obligation to respond to such summons?

I’m ignorant WRT this too but anecdotal evidence suggests that, if an obligation does indeed exist, certain nominal ‘officers’ – e.g., Giuliani, Lindsay Graham, et al – do not feel it very strongly.

Just waiting for all of them to testify they are sovereign citizens and the laws don’t apply to them.

I believe failing to comply with a lawful subpoena, that you haven’t gotten quashed by a judge, will get your law license lifted.

As they used to say the appropriately named The Price is Right:

Well, I guess that gig with Donnie didn’t work out so well for Jenna’s resume.

I can’t tell from the article, which mentions both the prosecutors having purchased her tickets for Aug 25th, but also alternate dates, does she have to show up in person, or can she zoom it?

Well in Wisconsin the third through fifth party and miscellaneous write in candidates totaled over 56,000 votes. Biden beat The Rump by 20,000 and change.

So I want to know how many dead Libertarians voted twice for Jo Jorgenson at their sister’s house into an illegal drop box.

Cheers! Saulte!

I’m wondering why in Trump’s election shenanigans there were a lot of lady lawyers on his team(s)?
Is Trump trying to start some lady lawyer beauty pageant?

I wonder how this will interfere with her current job as Doug Mastriano’s lead legal advisor in his quest to become Pennsylvania’s next governor?

As Mitt Romney might’ve said… organizations are people too,my friend,…

(CNN) – The former chief financial officer of the Trump Organization is expected to plead guilty Thursday to a 15-year tax fraud scheme, but he will not enter into a cooperation agreement to aid New York prosecutors in their criminal investigation of the real estate companies’ finances, a person familiar with the matter said.

Allen Weisselberg, a fiercely loyal, long-time employee of former President Donald Trump’s company, is in advanced talks to plead to the indictment, the person said. The judge overseeing the case has set a hearing for Thursday morning.

Under the terms of the deal, which is still being finalized, Weisselberg would receive a five-month prison sentence but would serve about 100 days behind bars, the person said. Weisselberg faced up to 15 years in prison.

Weisselberg will not sign up as a cooperator, the person said, but he will testify at trial – if the case moves forward and the Trump Organization does not itself reach a plea agreement. The judge set the trial for October 24.

Makes me wonder what were the selection criteria. Must’ve been their combined legal scholarship.

So not the swim suit parade?

That’s funny, October 24th is also the date for the hearing on whether to yank ghoulsie’s NY law license (already suspended).

Well, then, I suppose they can be tried and sentences, too.
Trump Org. isn’t that large, so its arrest and incarceration shouldn’t really strain the criminal justice system.
