I just reacted to his use of the term “menopause” as if he, with his background in venture capitalism, is some sort of expert in a field he knows nothing about (that’s also a trump trait).

I am not sure on the study of history even. I think it is manhandled into the purposes of a social vanity. Ferguson is a propped up shill for the controlling class.
During the 1700s the entire Scottish culture was erased. Exterminated in a way that Native American culture was not. Burns is literally all that’s left of the original Scots language.
History mentions it not at all.

The article is premised on the idea that he misuses the grandmother hypothesis to make an authoritarian point.
The grandmother hypothesis may explain some aspects of human evolutionary biology that are at odds with other animals. That evolutionary advantage is not a purpose, he is trying to imply intent.

Some scientists think only the human species has evolved a “menopause” and then can survive for years of decades after. However toothed whales (think killer whales for one but there are others) undergo menopause. Many kinds of mammals, if they can outlive the ovary’s production of egg cells and go through the consequent hormonal changes can be thought of as “post menopausal”

Given that just a couple of centuries ago human life expectancy was approximately 40 years, I think that hypothesis is crap.
And I don’t recall Butter Boy saying anything about evolutionary biology (his supporters aren’t big believers in that sciency stuff).
