Yes. I recall when the second to last guy was always called “Mr Obama” in the media, who seemed averse to honoring a Democrat with the title of “President.” But with the former guy (the LOSER), it was always The President.
Just read Marcy Wheeler’s thread. Many items specify the post-election period, November 3 2020 -Jan 6, 2021, but some items have different dates, suggesting specific knowledge that there are responsive communications within that range, e.g.
- Communications with Members of congress December 18 2020 -Jan 6, 2021
- Communications relating to the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers September 1, 2020 - the present
The letter with the subpoena is brutal. There a several notable bullet points but this one stands out to me,
"Attempting to corrupt the Department of Justice, including by soliciting and enlisting Department
officials to make false and aid your effort to overturn the presidential election,"
How will J6 enforce this subpoena? They cannot arrest donnie, demanding he appear would be laughed at. He will just say “nice try guys, c ya on the golf course”!
Time for Josh (and others in the MSM) to get off the Bannon Train …
But not alone.
The committee erred in addressing the subpoena to “President Trump.”
We only have one president, and Trump ain’t it.
The honorific remains with the office, and once out of office, a former president becomes “Mr. Smith.”
He (or someday she) can be referred to as “former President Smith,” but is addressed as “Mr. Smith.”
Which is funny because last night some host on MSNBC kept calling Barrack, President Obama.
You’d think that this would written down and posted somewhere.
Nah, you’re just non-evilly human—which is more than some orange jerks can say.
The media misuse the honorifics associated with elected office with numbing regularity.
So he’ll act stupid, and if things get really bad he’ll claim illness.
This is how to be a shit 101.
Also, Donny may be experiencing arterial bleeding of money to lawyers. I’m guessing (hoping) Chris Kise’s insistence on up-front money has broken the seal, and others are following suit. Even if Trump’s legal slush-fund/SaveAmerica PAC is cooking along, it’s gotta hurt.
Bannon just got four months for blowing off their subpoena. Let’s see, Trump could be under indictment simultaneously for: seditious conspiracy etc for Jan 6, mishandling NDI and obstructing justice in the docs case, various crimes in trying to corrupt Georgia’s electoral results, and contempt of Congress, all at the same time! I’m sure I’ve forgotten a few others among Donny’s prominent crimes. He’ll have to get a Winnebago and just drive it from courthouse to courthouse. Or, maybe, an orange jumpsuit, and a free ride from the government.
My god, there wouldn’t be enough popcorn in the world.
Pop corn… i have moved on to snacking on peanuts.
Trump has potential tax issues as well dogging him. I would not wish to tangle with the IRS.
[Trump was] at the center of the first and only effort by any U.S. President to overturn an election and obstruct the peaceful transition of power, ultimately culminating in a bloody attack on our own Capitol and on our Congress itself
Trump should explain why.
He has no more privilege NOT to, than the townsfolk have to just string his cowardly ass up right now.
Of course, there’s the possibility that conflicts are the point : - )
Jenna Ellis goes full Kanye on Josh Shapiro
Unlike many of the other subpoenas the committee has issued, the panel included the schedule of records that Trump is required to provide.
I suspect the J6 Committee knows full well there isn’t a snowball’s chance in hell Trump testifies, but they want to get the schedule of records into the public domain.
Interested observers can perhaps discuss why the President of the United States was an obsessive and avid user of Signal - an app that does not retain any records of texts or conversations and why he used it to contact The Who’s Who of the insurrection - which contravenes his obligations as President.
They name-dropped Ornato and not by accident. That guy is seriously bad news and up to his eyeballs in this whole thing. I have a suspicion the Committee is holding back everything they know about his involvement.
The timing of his retirement from the Secret Service is curious. He seems to be in a wee bit of trouble.
