Hooray for the J6C! Now they need to enforce it.

BTW I caught myself wondering if there’s a calendar somewhere people consult when they demand Cockholster’s appearances? With so many court dates I wonder how they avoid scheduling conflicts? LOL

“In short, you were at the center of the first and only effort by any U.S. President to overturn an election and obstruct the peaceful transition of power, ultimately culminating in a bloody attack on our own Capitol and on our Congress itself,” the Committee told Trump in the subpoena.

OK, so how about an indictment for “seditious conspiracy” like the Proud Boys (assholes) on trial right now?

“Most people don’t know this, but ‘Trump subpoenas’ are the best subpoenas. Very strong. Very powerful.”

What if Trump refuses to answer? What are the options then?

Such an enjoyable read. Nothing may ever come of it, but to see it in writing is blissfully satisfying. I am officially weird.

Trump also is required to identify “every telephone or communications device” that he used from Nov. 3, 2020 to January 20, 2021.

Good luck with that, given his habit of grabbing every bystander’s phone and making his calls from that. Speaking of which, ick. Wonder how many people windexed their phone several times a day.

They can’t. But maybe they can do a criminal referral for contempt before the term of congress is over.

Referral for criminal contempt of congress, which goes to the US district attorney for DC, and if he chooses he can take it to grand jury and get an indictment (which does not go away). But more likely TFG will make a pretense of cooperation, then stall them on some legal issue until past January 3rd when the subpoena goes poof.

Josh, stop calling this expletive-deleted criminal ‘President’. ‘Former president’ if you can’t resist, but he has no standing and never earned the honorific.
There is one president in this country, and the Manchurian Canteloupe ain’t it.
Sincerely,
A citizen needing to soak their brain in bleach.

Witness tampering -seems I recall this has come up before but…

Using signal when you are required by law to not delete messages is automatic intent to break the law.

Of course he will lie about it. But, I’d imagine that many of the people he took phones from were SS agents and people like Cassidy Hutchinson- no real involvement in the Jan 6 plotting and thus no reason not to rat him out rather than take the rap for what he did on their phone.

Thinking about it, the subject has probably already come up in some of the committee’s 1,000 interviews. So the Jan 6 committee might already have a list of “communication devices” they know he used and will now predictably lie about

Yes, I’m sure they do. So what? He forgot that on december 14th 2:58PM he grabbed joe flunky’s phone and took a call on that. He also forgot about using jane flunky’s phone on december 15th 3:04PM. This is one of those times where “I don’t recall” will reasonably work.

One thing I love about this question is that Donny has a known habit of using bystanders’ phones.

There were about 9 phones IDed at Stone trial that Roger called Donny on.

Ooooo, another great chance for him to get caught in a lie. “If it is what you say, I love it!”

All good things must come to an end…bad ones too… The Trump Era is growing more grotesque.

Yes…that is possible…
