When I retired the first time (from New Mexico State) I thought seriously about buying an appropriately-sized viola from Robertson in Albuquerque and joining a New Horizons orchestra, because I was worried about integrating into the community music scene here in Cincinnati.
I didn’t have the cash to do it right away, and I got integrated into the slushpump community here in pretty short order, so I’ve forgotten the idea of re-joining the wire choir.
RE: Carbon fiber bells. They are a lot lighter than a brass (or heavier, sterling silver). Charlie Daellenbach (Tuba with the Canadian Brass quintet) plays a Yamaha C tuba with a CF bell. I can’t hear a difference. Doug Yeo, retired bass trombonist of the Boston Symphony is now playing a CF trombone. I’ve heard him playing it and I can’t tell the difference between his Yamaha and his Butler CF. I went with a conventional brass bell because I couldn’t bring myself to order a plastic bell.
I’m probably going to visit this summer. Road trip with a stop in Tucson to see my aunt. They have a great assortment of basses, and a very high percentage of instruments with C extensions. Go back and polish up a concerto to audition instruments.
My wife has a Balmforth violin. She’s always been a much much better than I am, but talking her into a new instrument was like pulling teeth. Now she loves it, but she’d been playing the instrument her parents bought for her in 1979 (I actually went with her when she auditioned it). She just started letting our son use it, it’s a pretty big step up for him. He’s decided to keep playing while he’s in college despite not being a music major and my wife is beside herself.
Can we get MTG’s email and text addresses and put that on a 1000 times per 24 hours repeat, from variable addresses to make it hard to block? MTG is stupid as a sack of Marsha Blackburn’s and Donald Trump’s hair, combined and swept up from a filthy men’s room floor in a rural roadside Texaco station (from the 1960s). So very stupid, plus as mean and as nasty and ugly as a person can be.
Does this in any way relate to a city in eastern Kansas named Paola, in Miami County? USA place names (many/most stolen) are about the most integrated and diverse thing about this crazy place. But see, stolen.
Well, it takes a while to line up that many saint’s pictures, etc., all the accoutrements you need for a proper omerta ceremony. So the delay is perfectly understandable.
“I was thrown into this fight for voting rights and will keep swinging to ensure no other citizen has to face what I’ve faced and endured for the past seven years, a political ploy where minority voting rights are under attack,” she added.
Although Mason was not particularly involved in politics before her case, she has since become much more engaged in raising awareness about voting rights.
more power to her! And I hope she is successful in inspiring more people to exercise their voting rights.
I dropped out of the symphony chorale for a year when they scheduled a Patriotic Concert (in 2017) that included that song. The timing was bad enough, but that crappy thing was the crowning blow.
I started using it in '16, but a certain someone wasn’t the nominee, so it was technically retired. Shanahan is however the VP nominee (Indy though), so reporters are going to be going after her.
I am on Raw Story all day long. I use BRAVE browser exclusively.
I spend a lot of time on dicey sites (sports feeds, etc) and Brave does an awesome job of defeating many of the pop-ups and nasty stuff. I use it on my tablet too. Only use Chrome for work these days.
Mine was named in the 19th century, while they were building the aforementioned Main Line of the PA RR, for an 18th century Corsican named Pasquale Paoli.
