Let’s use Trump’s favorite characterization to describe this, his entire “presidency” is a HOAX!
Trump doesn’t care how many Americans die -civilian or military, how many suffer, how many votes he has to suppress, how many foreign countries interfere in our elections, to increase his odds of winning the election. And Republicans know all this and are fine with it.
Two points of note. Firstly, we’ve never had a President this hostile to our democracy and our Republic in our history. It’s still shocking when I think about how far he’s been able to go. And, secondly and what gives me hope, is despite all of this, there’s a very good chance he will lose. We just have to keep his cheating and chicanery to a minimum to allow our voters to vote and the results tabulated honestly.
The Republicans may be fine with it. And all the deaths (COVID and ambushed soldiers) will be laid at their feet: because they let Trump remain in Office.
That is, unless masochism is the new American pre-existing condition.
Every Republican should be thoroughly vilified as though they are killers.
Inbox: Tammy Duckworth says she will block Senate confirmation of more than 1,100 senior military officers awaiting promotion until the SECDEF “confirms in writing that he did not, or will not, block the expected and deserved promotion of Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman to Colonel.”
I have one tab open on Google Earth at all times now. I want to see the exact moment when the United States blinks out of existence. Of course, I will be blinking out simultaneously, so I have some concern that I will not be able to discern it.
