Is this Right-Wing Media Platform the Product of a $10 Million Russian Plot?

The Justice Department may have understated its findings in an indictment unsealed on Wednesday. Manhattan federal prosecutors revealed the indictment as part of a long-running investigation into Russian efforts to interfere in U.S. elections, charging two employees of state-owned media firm RT with money laundering and violating the Foreign Agents Registration Act. Similar efforts have…

Yes. Yes it is.

I’m sure Benny and Tim Pool will be shocked and mortified that they were useful idiots / paid stooges for the Russia this whole time!

Actually, since they’re not capable of shame or remorse, that is unlikely.

I personally believe that modern Russian manipulation of American politics began with the Tea Party.

So how is this not treason? I’m asking seriously. How is it not treason to actively work for the interests of a foreign power at the expense of your own country?

What is the legal definition of treason?

It is the act of waging war against the United States or materially aiding its enemies. Article III, Section 3, Clause 1: Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort.

There’s a fine line between “useful idiots” and just plain “idiots”.

It couldn’t be more Russian if Boris Epshteyn’s name were written all over it.

Countdown commencing for Republicans to start saying that exposing embedded Russian agents is weaponizing government against their political party.

Exploiting greed is a useful tool for our Russian adversaries. They found a couple of greedy stupid fools who apparently took it on faith that Eduard Grigoriann was real.

Some of the media influencers were unwitting dupes? Really they just took the cover story at face value and then took “Eduard Grigoriann’s” money and wrote exactly what was requested.

Next you are going to tell me that Megan Kelly stumbled across 4 former national guardsmen who claim they knew Tim Walz and are willing to trash him.

So… treason is the only crime named and defined in the constitution. It is, specifically, giving aid and comfort to the enemies of the United States, or making war upon them, when a duty is owed to them. Or some such.

Generally, that is all taken to mean that unless we’re in a shooting war with someone, they ain’t an “enemy.”

So, no, not treason. It might be a crime, but treason ain’t it.

American companies are using our money to pay China to build its military, and the election law has been blown so wide open for the benefit of the snake-handlers and born-rich bigots that the Russians have swept in on a tidal wave of cash.

Plainly, we lost the Cold War.

I know this is chump change to Russia, but it goes to show that they can get a much better ROI by funding propaganda in the U.S. than they can in funding their own war. After all, if the GOP wins, the war will be over, and meanwhile, they’ve already fostered distrust in our elections.

Fiendish.
