After threatening to close the Strait of Hormuz in late 2011, Iran’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee said Monday that it has drafted a bill that would allow Iran to try to stop tankers heading to nations that support sanctions from shipping oil through the strait. The announcement comes one day after the European Union implemented wholesale sanctions on importing Iranian oil.
