‘Invasion’: Texas GOP Struggles Over What Crisis To Manufacture At Border

Too true.
I couldn’t get the catchword and stumbled on ‘column’ as a synonym.
I will edit to get the ‘authentic flavor.’

Wait - you forget the best part: Thomas acknowledged the error when he amended those filings in 2011. He wrote that the information had been “inadvertently omitted due to a misunderstanding of the filing instructions."

So he’s on the SC, but can’t understand filing instructions. And since 2011, he still hasn’t learned how to file those pesky instructions.

I’m waiting for the women to show up. A sexual predator never changes and I’m sure he’s harassed plenty over the years.

I think you’re setting up a false either-or. Complex problems require multi-pronged solutions. (“Solutions” is actually too strong – “amelioration” is the best that can be hoped for.) Even on the demand front, we need much more than more and better drug-addiction programs. We also need to address the conditions that lead people to use these dangerous drugs, among them, poverty and the despairs of modern life – a tall order, to be sure. But we can barely start down these paths as long as Republicans – and not just today’s right-wingnuts and chaos-sowers, but old-time “moderate” and “conservative” Republicans – have much power.

Meanwhile, on the supply front, I am impressed by the Biden administration’s multi-pronged, coordinated approach as Heather Cox describes it.

I am in negotiations right now with my demented and delusional mother-in-law about moving into assisted living. Sounds like both negotiations are proceeding at about the same pace.

So…Forget the Alamo?

The average age of the Senate is 64.4 right now. In 1789 it was 46.7, rising almost continually since then, especially since the modern era began. When the constitution was signed, life was still somewhat “nasty, brutish and short.” Senators, being for the most part well off white males, no doubt had a somewhat higher life expectancy at birth, but still far lower than at present.

To repeat a common phrase, “the founders could not have forseen…”

A new amendment for Senate reform is badly needed in my opinion, including a mandatory retirement age.

Yes, but what of the northern border, which fails to hinder the movement of socialistic, Marxist woke Canucks into our bastion of free enterprise.
It’s well past time for the militarization of International Falls!

My wife is politically well informed and smart (she watches more msnbc than I do)
but is uncomfortable with universal remote so just presses up button and down button. Every once in a while I’ll be downstairs, she’ll have tv cranked and I’ll hear codewords a pissy tone and I’ll have an instinctive urge to hit something/somebody.

I’ll go upstairs to check and without fail, she was looking for CNN and went one too far and landed on Fox News. The revulsion is that visceral.

While this is true, I don’t think CNN nor MCNBC are entirely innocent of this.

Tha main difference being:
FoxNews tells their viewers lies and conspiracy theories, to stir them up.
CNN et al tell the facts, with some incendiary commentary.

Well worth a watch. A surprisingly well-done argument against fascism, made in 1947.

I’m not surprised the yacht vacation story was just the tip of a sordid iceberg. My question is despite further revelations of the depth of his corruption, will anything be done to oust Thomas or at least rein him in? I doubt it, but at least it increases the public’s desire for change, perhaps even radical reform?

Who among us has not engaged in a little corruption here and there.

I’m newly muddle-aged.

Any suggestions as to how I can stop forgetting the burner is still on?

Last I heard, the IRS doesn’t take, “Whoops, my bad.” as a legit excuse for us regular filers.

You won’t have to worry about it much longer. We’re coming for your gas stove! If it’s electric, you’re on your own.

It is time for weekly pregnancy tests for Texas gals (whether you have had sex or not just so you don’t forget). May every forced birth become a gay democratic political organizer!

Democrats need to be better at getting the message out as to all the good they’re doing.

They shouldn’t let FoxNoise keep drowning them out.
