‘Invasion’: Texas GOP Struggles Over What Crisis To Manufacture At Border

But I thought Trump’s big beautiful Wall was going to stop all this (plus Mexico was going to pay for it) so what gives? s/

Well it is under the entertainment devision of News Corp, not the News division.

The new program identified by the Biden Administration a couple of days ago takes the fentanyl crisis out of their sails.

Biden administration announces broad effort targeting production and distribution of illicit fentanyl (msn.com)

It also makes it a whole lot harder for the GQP to pull their shenanigans over the debt ceiling because, without funding, this program cannot move forward. Biden should make a huge deal over this when the inevitable denial of the increase comes.

And he should be very specific about it: all the GQP has done is yell about Biden doing nothing about the crisis. Now, they’re denying the funding for a comprehensive program to do something about it.

I’d be hammering this home every G-d#$%^& day until they relent and stop the crap.

If Biden hadn’t abandoned the wall, 'Murica wouldn’t be suffering from illegal immigration, fentanyl, power failures in Texas, stress on the Colorado River watershed, Demonrat governance in California or ingrown nails.

Reduction of drug addiction isn’t going to happen without funding for programs that would reduce the addictions.

Something else the GQP has no interest in funding.

“They’re trying as well as they can to dance around it to avoid angering what is appearing to be burgeoning Latino support for Republicans, particularly in South Texas along the border,”

I would think if it were truly “burgeoning,” then the phrase “appearing to be” would not be needed to modify that assertion.

“The non taking a position — silence is loud,” Cascos added. “At the end of the day, I think his intentions are good, but you know what they say about intentions.”

Yes. The road to Fascism is paved with very bad intentions.

Rather than fentanyl, it is anger that’s the real drug of choice for the reich-wing. Republicans know their audience has a jones for it and pimp it incessantly; damned pushers.

Let’s trade Texas back to Mexico and at least get something out of the deal before Texas tries to secede again.

Half the population of the State would explode - they don’t speak Spanish (the national language of their new owners) and all those ‘others’ that they hate will now have more control over their budget than they will.

Not to mention all the loss of the US military bases and having to get a passport to cross out of TX and into the rest of the US.

Now, since it’s illegal to secede, they have no reason to take up the offer of Mexico to take them back, but the explosions would be epic.

Are you sure Mexico even wants Texas back?

Yes–but one political party seems not to be much interested in investing in people, as opposed to investing in militarization. But I’m also in favor of doing what we can to limit supply/production: that would be of enormous benefit to Mexico over the long term.

Well, there is that. This is the same State that has proposed bombing them.

Probably not a good look…

Clarence Thomas has some more 'splaining to do.

The Washington Post wrote that financial disclosure forms show he’s continued to report between $50,000 and $100,000 a year made from Ginger Ltd., Partnership, a firm launched in the 1980s by his wife and her family.

The firm closed down in 2006, the Post reported. It was replaced by another firm, but Thomas’ records don’t mention that one.

Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas has reported rental income worth hundreds of thousands of dollars from a real estate firm that has been defunct for nearly 20 years, the latest investigation into the embattled judge revealed Sunday.

The Post said that, since 2006 when the real estate firm shut down, Thomas, whose annual salary is $285,000, has reported receiving between $270,000 and $750,000 from it.

Thomas didn’t respond to requests for comment from the Post.

Thomas has, since his SCOTUS tenure began, reported as required, many gifts and alternative sources of income and has been very selective and shrewd about which ones he doesn’t report.

Klobuchar was very clear that there is work to do that cannot move forward with Feinstein gone.
