On Governors asking for help, Trump says, “It’s a two way street they have to treat us well too.”
May Trump burn in whatever hell awaits him. I can’t even voice my hatred of him.
They are under the base boards waiting to make their move.
We all welcome our new insect overlords.

That’s already in the rear view mirror, at least on the panic side of things.
You make a lot of sense, unfortunately. Technology, it seems, is a force multiplier for Teh Stoopid. In its own way it’s just as much of a pandemic as viruses, which are also spread more rapidly because of technology. Is it possible that we’ve finally passed our peak moment as a species?
I mean, how much of the fact that we haven’t seen the military use of a nuke since WWII has been due to massive safeguards, how much to sane and responsible leadership, and how much to just blind luck?
Trump properties will be the Cockroaches’ “Normandy”
Is this what’s known as natural selection, Spencerian variety?
Was it COVID-45, or just exposure to disco?
I hope not. But I don’t know any more. What I do know is that the biological “lifetime” of a species is not unlimited and that 99.9% of the species that have ever lived are extinct.
No. Let them cough directly in his unmasked unprotected face.
The odds are there for anyone to calculate, here in NYC the hospital system is almost overwhelmed and will be soon for the distant foreseeable future. There is not much curve to be flattened here, there are likely 200,000 infected people in the greater NYC area at this moment. For those people not yet infected, the fastest route to normality is the development of herd immunity. By Easter, we could almost be there with ~20-25% infected rate in the Greater NYC area.
Now in those spots where is just about to explode, e.g. GA, FLA and LA, they are following in NY footsteps, 10-days to 2-weeks behind. The place where social distancing could benefit the most is all but oblivious of where they are on the curves, basically the Red States. They are not expected get going until ~mid-April to May.
Trump opening things up for Easter will have a potential devestaging effect on the Heartland…
The country graphs found here tell a story. Italy is bad with no end in immediate site, but they are bending the curve, that is good, ceteris paribus.
France, Spain and the US do not have pretty curves…
He’s a monster.
If he gets covid-19, so be it.
I have tried not to wish this virus on Trump – or anybody. But I am now failing. The callous casual cruelty is just too horrible. Among Trump’s people as well.

Josh should have put the above in an article on which we could comment. Why? Because this asshole IMPOTUS is literally killing Americans through his god damned inaction and he’s been sitting on his thumbs for months doing nothing. After firing the people that kept us safe from potential pandemics like Ebola, and removing all that necessary infrastructure, he learned last December and January that SARS-CoV-2 was a serious threat and HE IGNORED IT!!!
He wants an effective quid pro quo in order to provide federal assistance. Look at what he said:
“Usually we’ll have 50 governors that will call it the same time. I think we are doing very well. But it’s a two-way street. They have to treat us well, also. They can’t say, “Oh, gee, we should get this, we should get that.” We’re doing a great job. Like in New York where we’re building, as I said, four hospitals, four medical centers. We’re literally building hospitals and medical centers. And then I hear that there’s a problem with ventilators. Well we sent them ventilators. And they could have had 15,000 or 16,000 – all they had to do was order them two years ago. But they decided not to do it. They can’t blame us for that.”
He wants everybody to bow and scrape and tell him what a great leader he is. He wants respect while he kills us through his inaction. After he was told of the threat and didn’t do a damn thing about it.
And yet he didn’t do a damn thing since he was informed by the US Intelligence community that the virus was a very serious threat back in December and January. He didn’t start building hospitals until the need became glaringly obvious to everyone in his clique of inept myopic advisers.
Horrifying. It’s just horrifying. There’s no other word. And his approval numbers are going up.
Dead people can’t disapprove. Maybe enough deplorables will get sick and learn that IMPOTUS could have done a lot more a lot earlier.
It’s a rally round the flag reaction and actually poor to mediocre compared to approval rates of past presidents acting in a crisis, for example George Bush after 9/11. What was Trump’s figures?
BTW Gallup leans not a little Republican. They haven’t been the “poll of record” for years.
“Bush began his presidency with ratings near 60%. In the time of national crisis following the September 11 attacks, polls showed approval ratings of greater than 85%, peaking in at 92%, and a steady 80–90% approval for about four months after the attacks.” — Wikipedia.
See the difference?
And finally,
So, really, who knows. Polling is a minor concern right now.
