Pure Trump. It’s meaningless. People are protected now; they can’t be protected “at an even higher level.” These are the same wild, impossible promises he’s been making all along, and the pool of people who believe him has shrunk to a wet spot on the ground. Another day, same shit. Anybody who still pays attention or, even worse, enjoys this nonsense is someone I’m sincerely glad I neither know nor run into in everyday life. If the $400 million belongs to Vlad and his associates, I’m not really sure there’s anywhere he can go to avoid accidentally falling through a locked window, a deadly cup of tea or door knob or an untimely, repeat encounter with a baseball bat. If he really values his life as a thing separate from the conditions in which it is lived, he’s probably best off in solitary in a federal penitentiary.
