A lot of these issues stem from the rabbit holes that people on Facebook, Youtube, etc. get led down by these profit centersā€™ drive for eyeballs. Regulation of these companiesā€™ use of our data has to come. Targeted advertising and the algorithms that drive people down these paths must be addressed, and itā€™s only by regulation that it will happen.

It is also a two way street. My family wants nothing to do with me because I go to the marches with people without guns and write letters to the newspaper that sound like they came from these pages. Back when my family actually invited me to their homes they all had Fox news on all the time. I guess they still do.

My question is to what extent does religion affect this issue either way?

First off we need to say who are becoming radicalized and I think the clear answer is White Christians.

So the question is, are those becoming radicalized more likely to be unaffiliated with religion, Evangelicals, or is religion not an indicator?

I think this is an important question, will religion help to ā€œderadicalizeā€ or does religion to some extent cause people to become ā€œradicalizedā€ or is it of no consequence either way.
