The Illinois Supreme Court has granted Rahm Emanuel a stay of an appellate court’s decision that booted him from the Chicago mayoral ballot. The court has ordered that ballots still be printed with Emanuel’s name on them, according to WLS.Emanuel appealed the lower court’s decision today, calling the 2-1 ruling against his candidacy “one of the most far-reaching election law rulings ever to be issued by an Illinois court.” The appellate court said yesterday that Emanuel did not meet the residency requirements to run for mayor.
