Don’t get pregnant in Idaho. It’s nearly illegal there and it is not technically legal for a pregnant woman to leave the state. State authorities would assume it would be to get an abortion
Taliban, U.S.A.
Don’t worry Idaho ladies! Trump is totally gonna fix this!
That’s horrendous!
Paint me shocked and surprised that Republicans who claimed to be pro-birth and pro-family to ban abortion have backed away from supporting new parents and families. At least they haven’t banned the use of state/county roads by pregnant women…yet.
I guess we’ll see if Idaho voters love their bodily autonomy more than they love their racism.
But Blaine Conzatti, president of the Idaho Family Policy Center and a leading anti-abortion lobbyist, is not bothered by the lack of government support. Pregnancies, births and child care are not the purview of the government, he said, but of families, communities, charities and, most of all, churches.
So government is for??? What things like roads, bridges, and railways?
As ever with the worst of the worst of American Taliban legislators like those in Idaho, the cruelty is the point of the policy. To demonstrate such viciousness that no one would have any doubt who is in charge. Ghouls in expensive suits and ties — like the photo atop this article of Brad Little, Governor of Idaho, who looks exactly as self-satisfied and awful as you’d think a Taliban Governor might look.
At least to my knowledge the state has not yet set up border check points
In Idaho Shedaho and not worthy of care by republicans.
This is a clear case of misogyny.
I invite Fred Birnbaum to die in a hovel, in pain, alone, and forever unheard.
Pregnancies, births and child care are not the purview of the government, he said, but of families, communities, charities and, most of all, churches.
Not the purview of the government, but of the church. That’s a strange position for the party that does not believe in the separation of church and state. And if the government has no role to play in pregnancy, then why did Idaho ban abortion?
Next up for the party of family values, shunning and scarlet letters.
Idaho is Fantasy Island for guys lying about their military service in bars.
Religion has become, on balance, a force for evil in this world. It’s not that we should do without religion, and a sense of the larger mysteries. It’s that current religions, in claiming knowledge of the larger mysteries, are more often than not perversely, dangerously wrong in the answers they promote. Nearly every great wrong in the world today has a religious establishment complicit in its accomplishment. We need to address this directly, and not shy away out of undeserved respect. We must hasten the progression to a “spiritual but not religious” society, else our societies continue their fracture and decline.
Biblical Jebus was vociferously opposed to the poor receiving any support from the Roman Occupational Government.
“No, you can’t audit my church’s financial records,” he added.
Pregnancies, births and child care are not the purview of the government, he said, but of families, communities, charities and, most of all, churches."
And yet, these Christo-fascist fanatics have forced government to intervene in the lives of pregnant women, families and anyone else who doesn’t buy their religious horseshit in a way that would give Josef Mengele a raging hard-on. Fuck your toxic religious bullshit and fuck you Idaho.
That’s it. I’m off potatoes forever!
