Don’t get pregnant in Idaho. It’s nearly illegal there and it is not technically legal for a pregnant woman to leave the state. State authorities would assume it would be to get an abortion

Paint me shocked and surprised that Republicans who claimed to be pro-birth and pro-family to ban abortion have backed away from supporting new parents and families. At least they haven’t banned the use of state/county roads by pregnant women…yet.

To demonstrate such viciousness that no one would have any doubt who is in charge. Ghouls in expensive suits and ties — like the photo atop this article of Brad Little, Governor of Idaho, who looks exactly as self-satisfied and awful as you’d think a Taliban Governor might look.

Not the purview of the government, but of the church. That’s a strange position for the party that does not believe in the separation of church and state. And if the government has no role to play in pregnancy, then why did Idaho ban abortion?

Religion has become, on balance, a force for evil in this world. It’s not that we should do without religion, and a sense of the larger mysteries. It’s that current religions, in claiming knowledge of the larger mysteries, are more often than not perversely, dangerously wrong in the answers they promote. Nearly every great wrong in the world today has a religious establishment complicit in its accomplishment. We need to address this directly, and not shy away out of undeserved respect. We must hasten the progression to a “spiritual but not religious” society, else our societies continue their fracture and decline.
