I think what Cornyn is trying to say is, this Biden guy’s nothing like our guy. And thereby slyly (he thinks) insinuating that, to look like a real leader, you should tweet outrageously and incessantly, and get on cable TV as often as you can. Because that’s how real leaders show they are in charge, y’see.
Meanwhile, the rest of the world is still sighing with relief. Biden is in charge. He has extraordinarily competent people working throughout his administration, with more coming. He has the party united. He has broad bipartisan support in the land. Hell, in the world. He has already dispelled, many times over, any concerns about his capacity. Among reasonable people, at least. Those who persist with “Biden’s old, he’s slowed down, he needs that teleprompter, he can’t string stuff together, he isn’t really in charge (AOC is), he looks sleepy”, and so on, are looking ridiculous and being ignored.
I never thought I’d ever say this, but he is, right now, and apart from the eloquence factor, performing better than Barack Obama. He is building a better administration and already making stuff happen, with lots to look forward to. There is a concerted effort going on.
Much of this is due to the experiences of the early Obama administration, which suffered greatly from too much trust in the Republicans. That trust is gone now, replaced by a more hard nosed approach that has also been politically astute. Lessons have been learned. Lessons that everyone in the Democratic caucus can agree on, which is a great common ground and a driver for why, even with the diversity of views in the caucus, there is unity.
There is unity also because of the urgency of the moment. Things - a lot of things - have to get done, asap. The people need it to happen. And if there’s to be any chance for a continuation in this direction, things need to be seen to be getting done in time for the midterms next year. The Democrats have no room for electoral losses. They must win, starting already. There isn’t much time.
But it looks good. Cornyn’s shit, with its limited appeal (the base), is on a par with all the other Republican critiques so far. It’s as good as they’ve got. And it won’t draw any more supporters into the fold. So, it looks good. Dems just have to deliver, get those wins.

I’m not expecting Chris Wallace to do this, but there should be no time when any Republican office holder gets to say anything about Biden without being reminded that for 5 years they let the most heinous crap slide without a peep. That is the whole point about hanging Chump around their necks, is that you have to say it over and over every time they open their mouths.
