How Trump and His Famous Golfer Buddy Are Trying to Sportswash the Presidency

That stuff isn’t shiny, so the execs don’t slaver over it. On the other hand “Sudso dishwashing detergent will eliminate the need for 300 dishwashers in your business1,” does sell. AI is deep in the hype cycle, but apparently execs haven’t learned how that works yet.

1 There’s only 1 dishwasher at your business. You’re going to go without washing dishes?

Isn’t a blockade considered an act of war? I seem to recall that the Berlin airlift was considered an act of war and hard to walk back from. Wasn’t the Cuban Missile crisis precipitated by an American blockade?

That " Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." comment from Santayana need to be updated to acknowledge the suffering those of us do remember the past are forced to endure at the hands of those who cannot remember inflict on us.

He already is. As Charlie Kirk was fond of saying “Prove me wrong.” I’ll apply the “Flat earther criteria, or maybe something akin to Charlies own.” I believe it, therefor I’m right.

The “why” is what is bothering me. I am not even sure if those puppeteers understand what they are implementing. On the other hand, there is a sense of zealotry and the consequences be damned. Almost a social experiment that we are unwilling participants in.

I got one of those before I knew that we’d be moving from AZ. This relates to the discussion from the other day of whether having kids is worth it - my 2 daughters put it together for me!

Yes, so this is either a war crime or crimes against humanity or both. Why are we doing this to them? What are we doing to ourselves?

This administration is sociopaths all the way down; they are pure evil.

The US has done some rotten stuff in the past, but it was always at least somewhat mitigated by genuine humanitarian works. Even W could get that part right.

Almost?

And they don’t understand, that much is obvious to outside observers. The fungal growth of data centers makes no sense, you could sort of eat the tulips. For some time I speculated that there was some underlying nefarious intent. I’ve come around to believing that the Rulers of the Universe are just stupid. This has all the looks of another gold rush, granted one that will harm larger numbers of people, but a gold rush none the less. Most people will just go broke.

BREAKING: SB 2471 has been signed into law! It’s the first of its kind in the nation and renders the Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision irrelevant in Hawaii.

The law, which takes effect July 1, 2027, redefines corporations in a way that precludes spending on elections.

If Trump, who famously eschews physical exercise because he believes in the battery theory of the body,

I’d’ve kinda hoped such delusions would disqualify someone from leadership roles in even the Andorra league of modern polities.

I do not own a car. My driveway is empty so folk assume I am elsewhere until I relate my disability and how impossibly dangerous I’d be driving these days. Some folk are just dense.

Well, I could be in China getting my ass handed to me or snorkeling ghoulishly over our entombed heros off the Hawaiian coast or in Maine, was it, claiming I’m against fraud while serving the most fraudulent president in American history, but here I am instead.

In the collective U.S. persons sense? Hard to explain to ourselves, let alone outsiders. The sadists elected one of their own seems closest.
