Christopher Anderson’s VF pictures are a masterpiece example of why pissing off artistic people is a bad idea for fascists. The sickly color palette, the framing, Nazi Miller on a couch that’s too big for him mirroring his smallness as a person, the chaos of plugs in a socket behind one of them, JD vance against a wall like a bad prom photo, Wiles looking small and insignificant center frame, and if course that close up. They look like publicity stills from a bad low budget movie produced by talentless hacks. Or a reality TV show. Just iconic.

Same. Or I should say I’ve not had anything severe enough to say it was flu or even COVID. But, I was not tested for either. I get my vaccines and boosters every year and that may be why I can’t attribute what seems likes colds to something more serious.
And, being something of an introvert, I’m happy to social distance at most times.

Media are covering the looming expiration of ACA subsidies, and the resulting massive hikes in premiums. It’s no secret millions will find their new plans cost prohibitive, and thus go uninsured. But the level of alarm over this seems muted, by everyone involved except those suffering the rate hikes. A lot of pundits are predicting any of several issues over the next several months will prove Trump’s Achilles Heel. It seems to me once this ACA collapse sinks in with media, politicians, and the public at large it should prove the biggest shitstorm on the horizon. Yet it seemingly ranks below inflation, affordability, foreign entanglements, immigration and several other issues. I think it will prove more damaging to the GOP in the midterms than anything else they’ll have to deal with.

I didn’t watch the Holiday festival of lies speech last night, just read the summaries this morning. What struck me the most, maybe because I’m too focused on imagery, is how they put a honkin’ big microphone up there near his gob.
That is not normal placement, and usually a more discrete mic is used. An intentional statement, that he has the world’s biggest Presidential mic? Or incompetence by his AV staff?
