Excellent, informative reporting.
If I had the time and energy to dig into PEW’s report, I would probably learn how PEW differentiates “White Evangelical Protestant” from “White Non-Evangelical Protestant” (though that wouldn’t necessarily tell me how other pollsters differentiate the two). In which group are Evangelical denominations like Presbyterians and Lutherans included?

I realize the evangelicals and Bibi are using each other for their own purposes (survival?) but does he realize the end game for the evangelicals is the conversion of the Jews to christianity?

Some people don’t recognize a distinctions between BiBi and Israel and American Jews. It’s far more simple to lump them all together and say we don’t like it.

Those people are likely much more loyal to Israel, AIPAC and Netanyahu than to anything associated with the blue states. Our votes are already severely diluted by the senate and the electoral college and a bunch of other historic compromises. I fully expect they will lean in to all of that and try to steal the '26 election, and after that, '28. They probably can’t steal the House. The senate only has a 40% chance of flipping. They will do their damnedest to defeat popular democracy.

Evangelical Lutherans are not fundamentalist-style “evangelicals”: they are mainstream Protestants. “Evangelical” is simply part of the denomination’s name. It dates back to Martin Luther.

I doubt that Bibi gives a hoot for what American “evangelicals’” theology has to say. All he cares about is exploiting these useful idiots to pressure Trump and the Repug Party into giving unconditional support for Israel’s warmongering, expansionist, and ethnic-cleansing policies.

You can check it on Wikipedia. Right now the senate is 47/53 D/R.
The popular vote is 52% / 48% D/R. We (the Dems) consistently win the popular vote, but we get screwed in the final count because of the smaller states that are vastly over-represented, and the under-representation of California and its 39M citizens.
Everyone gets a vote, but some votes are worth 40x as much as others. Yay, America!

Yes, I know all that. That’s why I posed the question! What definition of “evangelical” is PEW using? Or are other pollsters using?
On the advice of a prominent fundamentalist preacher (can’t remember his name now), a young Billy Graham stopped using the term “fundamentalist” (though he was one), since fundamentalism was derided by many people, and he adopted the term “evangelical” in its place. This was in the 1940’s, IIIRC. Many other fundamentalist denominations/sects followed suit. Hence the possibility for confusing the evangelism of Lutherans, Presbyterians, and others with fundamentalist evagelism.
