Yes, good to hear. My wife’s a public school nurse in the OKC metro area and got a similar call from her boss just before Christmas day (but while they were already on their winter break).
She got her second shot last week and I can’t deny it’s very nice to feel the relief of having that “box checked” while I’m able to work well from home (in an essential (utility) industry), such that I can stay out of others’ way, who don’t have that luxury.
I live in Central PA which is generally underserved like all rural areas but we have a behemoth multi branch medical center–Geisinger Health Systems.–Two days ago they set up 4 vaccine clinics and if you have their insurance, or have been seen by any of their doctors, they had a really easy to use web scheduling-- a choice of which or any clinic–a calendar with open dates and choice of time slot in 10 minute increments. It took only a few minutes.
I think they were holding onto a lot of their stockpile until the CDC and then state of PA opened up the eligibility to 65+ and 16-64 with underlying conditions. Anyway, I feel fortunate to have a date but even if it was later in the Spring just having an official scheduled appointment seems to be the way to go.
