Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., relied on an email marketing vendor that takes as much as 80 cents on the dollar.

That’s hilarious.

No matter how much the insurrectionists claim to have raised or actually raised there is a limit to the number of voters who’ll support blatantly racist, anti-democratic, authoritarian rule. Hence the fascistgop’s emphasis on limiting voting rights to their constituency alone.

It’s sad and repugnant, however, that anybody or any organization would actually contribute a nickel to these assholes.

The amount the cited by these grifters - was that the total before or after paying the bills? Was that gross or net?

So, these scunbags raised $3M but the consultant takes 80%. They got $240K. The real grifters cleared $2,760,000.

Nice work if you can get it.

Maths is hard.

This is why I’m not so concerned about these fundraising numbers. The vast majority is being wasted via consultant/vendor grift.

I also wonder how much of this will be refunded in the next couple of months. I wouldn’t be surprised if Hawley/Greene used the infamous Trump donation checkbox to get people to send multiple unintended donations. I wonder how many MAGAs have overdrawn their bank accounts donating to these clowns.

That’s some pretty expensive astroturf.

So what’s with all the fertilizer then?

Too bad Politico couldn’t be bothered to investigate and report this aspect of the story.

$600k and $2.4M, but your point stands.

Thanks for correcting my bad math. Haven’t had my coffee yet.

ETA. I should know better than trying to do a word problem before coffee.

“Well it takes money to make money.”
Sounds like MTG has an advantage over Hawley, he still sits on committees, and thus has to show up, cuts into his tweetathons.

Almost certainly gross.

In more than one sense.

How do you “rent” an email list? How does the owner of the list stop you from using it after your lease expires?
Is it more like paying a spam farm to send out emails on your behalf?

You don’t actually get the list. The owner sends your spam out for you, in your name.

There are ways to estimate how successful the use of the list was, but nothing is fool-proof.

That’s Politico’s mission statement.
