The interesting thing is I attended a rally in downtown Springfield too.
Saw Bill Clinton in the flesh in a crowd of thousands in the closing days of the 1992 Presidential campaign. Was a young DADT (before it was codified) officer at Wright-Patt. Got to sit in Air Force One that week too. They parked it in our hanger while Bush 1 flitted about to nearby rallies.
Surreal times, but at least we still had a fully functional democracy. And Ohio was a battleground state, that Clinton one. So glad I left the state soon after.

There is an argument to be made that after January 6th Trump should have been dispatched to a realm from which he could never return.
