How Florida's Plan for Immigration Judges at 'Alligator Alcatraz' May Violate Constitutional Rights

I’ve been complaining to my sister who lives in TX that it’s not the temperature it’s the humidity that is making me crazy. Clammy has become a hated word in my vocabulary.

Something To Do – Support NASA

“Major programmatic shifts at NASA must be implemented strategically so that risks are managed carefully. Instead, the last six months have seen rapid and wasteful changes which have undermined our mission and caused catastrophic impacts on NASA’s workforce. We are compelled to speak up when our leadership prioritizes political momentum over human safety, scientific advancement, and efficient use of public resources. These cuts are arbitrary and have been enacted in defiance of congressional appropriations law. The consequences for the agency and the country alike are dire.”

We’ve had days of 104 degrees in northern Nevada recently. I can work outside in the midday sun for an hour and come inside for a break, not a bit of dampness in my clothes, barely a sweat on my brow.

As has been pointed out by others, the Constitution is looked upon as a minor hindrance to these people. I know that the GQP has taken over both houses of Congress and a majority on the Supreme Court, but I still hold out hope that other federal judges will send up some cases the Fascist Five can’t reverse. We shall see.

The left needs to stop shitting its pants over these huge overreaches by the Fascists and learn a lesson from it.

Stop being such a bunch of fucking pussies.

If you want to implement anything, just fucking do it. It’s better to apologize after it’s done than ask permission upfront because we will NEVER get it. So, implement the law, whatever it is, let people see how it works and gain in popularity. Then dare the motherfuckers to repeal it by declaring that we will bury them with that repeal. Yes, we could do that with the ACA but the present condition of the Democratic party is feckless dicklessness.

Yep. And my new home state of FL gains nothing from NASA. /s

“Force”? In my recollection, the class standing for the pledge just happened. There was no coercion, no shaming. And back in the day, also NO “under gawd.”

Good for you having a disrespectful blase attitude. The right wing loves it when Libz sh** on American symbols. Expect to be widely quoted. You may become their latest hero.

Ha! Put-on long-sleeved shirts, long pants, a flak vest/gear vest, and a face mask in this climate? No thanks.

But now I see what the starting salaries are. There will be lots of applicants with little vetting.

Is there a real constitution anymore? The SCOTUS is constantly rewriting it or ignoring parts of it that would cause them to restrain the president. I don’t know that any part of it is really safe and firmly defended in the long run.

They won’t reaffirm any laws that defend the right to vote, they won’t defend the value of anyone’s vote, by refusing to address gerrymandering, they won’t defend equality between votes, by supporting the electoral college.

They won’t defend the First Amendment, by letting Trump terminate residency for anyone saying things he dislikes, and they will soon start stripping citizenship and possibly deporting naturalized citizens over minor infractions. They won’t affirm that people arresting people in public should have warrants or badges. They won’t enforce any kind of campaign-finance laws, they won’t support the Emoluments clause, they won’t support any separation of church and state, they won’t prevent Trump from sending troops into states for spurious reasons. The list is long.

I see them as ferociously partisan, and at least a couple of them are brazenly corrupt. They want monarchy. So, not a lot of hope here.

High dew points means that your sweat ain’t evaporating. In fact if you’re sweating then the moisture in the air decides to merge with one’s sweat. It’s a conspiracy I tell ya.

So I guess 18 USC 242 is a dead letter. Because otherwise thousands of perps would be facing life in jail and quite plausibly the death penalty.

“Force” may be too harsh, but everybody did it and it just seemed like it was expected. And one didn’t want to be the outlier and just not go along.

Ahh :sunglasses: That dry heat!

“Muggy” seems to be the go-to word in the Mid-Atlantic. We deal.

It will be over come September

Dad was one of those people that would have a ball of sweat dripping off the end of his nose with the least amount of exertion.

Thankfully I didn’t get those genes.

Had a girlfriend like that once. It was fun. And sweaty :sunglasses:

Yes, they wasted them “accidentally” bombing the only Catholic church in Gaza

The office of Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that “Israel deeply regrets that a stray ammunition hit Gaza’s Holy Family Church. Every innocent life lost is a tragedy.”

“Israel is investigating the incident and remains committed to protecting civilians and holy sites,” the office added in a statement.

The Catholic grifters have wanted to exterminate Jews for a good thousand years.

The Inquisition was all about ferreting out “closet Jews”.

“Give us all your property and we won’t burn you at the stake”

The Catholic Church and its pedophile priests are evil.

And just to throw this in there,
These people had deeply, strongly religious convictions:
“Sorry we have to kill you or God won’t let the corn grow…”
