Well since Mulvaney wasn’t helping to develop policy, and his only excuse is “I did what I was told to do.” then yes he needs to go testify.
OTH Bolton is a different kettle of fish, rotten stinking fish, but still in another kettle.
There is absolutely NOTHING that would keep Republican President Trump from making a statement about the essential value of the Executive privilege immunity doctrine follwed by a statement, as President, which says, “In this one case, I have chosen to waive the privilege in order to have a full and fair hearing of all witnesses at the impeachment hearings. In no way is this waiver intended to serve as a precedent binding all future Presidents to likewise grant a waiver of the privilege as it pertains to Executive staff who are subject to Congressional subpoena.” Then he could let McGahn, Bolton and Mulvaney testify. Surely nothing they might say would damage the president. The point is, Trump could make this happen and NOT erode the executive power of the Presidency.
But wouldn’t that be seen as a compromise? Trump don’t do compromise. Trump do what Trump wants and screw the norms, and the law.

Tribalism has overcome Patriotism in this country,

that kinda reminded me of top tier tribalism or aka communism.
trumps dream catcher
When people use high-minded constitutional principles to defend low-minded criminal bullshit I get tinnitus. The only principle in evidence here (we are talking about Trump) is the principle of you can use the Bible or the law to justify anything you do if you work at it hard enough.
They keep having these discussions based on principles and legacy and norms of government, making it sound like all they are doing is thinking about what is best for the executive branch and America. They stay very, very wide of the crimes Trump actually did right in front of the world - after all, it worked last time, right?
It is like watching hyenas discuss table manners over a rotting carcass.
Rep. Tom McClintock (R-CA)
He’s from a safe district, so it could be both.
McClintock is not wrong. The story the Dems told holds up well and we don’t need Mulvaney or Bolton. Those two would simply muddy the message and make people less certain of what happened. The way the Dems are proceeding now, the case is abundantly clear to all except the 911 truther crowd that supports Trump, but even they know what happened. They just need to lie about it because it’s their go to political move.
are thinking outside of the
boxConstitution
It is true that rulers like Pol Pot, Idi Amin, and Joseph Stalin, were able to “think outside the box”. It is the box labelled “Constitution” that chafes the current administration more than any other.
And that would be something about which he could legitimately boast.
But, I ain’t holdin’ my breath.
That is one for the ages! Chapeux!
Sounding like you want to get at the truth is always good PR. Testify but say nothing works
a lot better then keep your mouths shut you dirty, stinking rats. I think that’s what we have
going on here.
Executive Privilege?
More like Executive Espionage…
Trump Family vs. Constitution?
McClintock is a moving target, selecting his voters rather than his district, moving from the state assembly coastal 36th to 38th (Santa Clarita), back to state senate 19th (Santa Barbara), an unsuccessful run for governor in 2003 in the interim, then up to the overwhelmingly white central Sierras (Elk Grove) in CA-4. The definition of venality. His view on anything should be taken with several kilograms of rock salt.
“… use the children we’ve caged as food for our troops in Afghanistan?..”
A Modest Proposal? Save a lot of taxpayer dollars otherwise expended in welfare.
He’s expecting these two jerks would filibuster the hearing with GOP and Fox talking points. That’s what they do with TV interviews.
more obstruction, more coverups.
It is the GOP strategy of crime.
Executive Extortion, get to keep 'em separated.
Awful lot of conditionals in that statement.
