Hospitals Slam UK Gov’t Over Failures To Provide Enough Personal Protective Equipment | Talking Points Memo

LONDON (AP) — Hospitals on Monday slammed Britain’s government for its failure to give medical staff appropriate clothing and equipment to deal with the COVID-19 outbreak, arguing that it is time for action and not words.

I’m in the UK right now and I see no effort to trace or test. They wanted to go the ‘herd immunity’ route at the beginning, I think out of lack of money - the UK did NOT recover from the great recession - but there’s nothing I can see in the press or anecdotally from my local area that they actually did anything else. If it’s not contact tracing, then it IS herd immunity.

The UK has been outwardly coasting on their sense of superiority for years, and internally on the absolute assurance that they are better than the Yanks. That crap is coming to an end. The UK is a shell, and people don’t see it. This disease might kill them before they even get a chance to kill themselves with Brexit.
