Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz revealed Wednesday that his office is still investigating Hillary Clinton-related leaks from the FBI field office in New York.
When we look at someone like Horowitz, we see the insidious impact of Trump’s evil. Horowitz is a “pick your battle” guy, who thinks his job is to look independent. Same mind set as James Comey or the NYT. So when Obama was there, he tossed some red meat at the right wing congress critters.
But under Trump he is just not going after things that are explosive. Why? well he does not expect the democrats to come to his defense, and he is a careerist. No way he turns himself into a punching bag for Trump. So he lets himself get pushed around. The republicans have been doing this for years with the press, now doing it with the government. Given a task like the current investigation, he is not going to make anything up, he is not going to trash his reputation, but he will look for some “both sides” issues - here “process errors”; but no way he is going to push an investigation showing things that helped Trump out (i.e. showing that Trump’s victory was fraudulent, gained by FBI manipulation egged on by Guilliani).
Folks, I have tried primal screams to deal with this miasma of bullshit…save your breath, they don’t work.
There is a scandal but it was the FBI’s phony investigation of Hillary Clinton, the investigation that Comey used to torpedo her election.
Horowitz noted that there was a challenge in proving the substance of the conversations those officials had with reporters or “the individual,” an apparent reference to Giuliani.
“Because all the people involved are obviously lying about it, and even though it’s a federal crime to lie to federal investigators, I’m not going to do a damned thing about it or exert any energy in trying to report the truth of what happened (that we all pretty much know anyway).”
When Dems get back in charge they need to do a actual investigation on political bias and root out all these hacks.

I’m afraid that the ratio between hacks, toadies, Trump ball-washers, cowards and grifters on the one hand and principled, disinterested competent professionals on the other that are in positions of power and influence has gone critical.

Horowitz is conducting, or says he’s conducting, an investigation into Anti-Clinton bias in the FBI and yet to complete it. But unless I’m getting other sources of info wrong Josh’s assessment of him being a joke is a bit harsh. From Salon:

He’s not outright avoiding what we know is the case he’s just not busting his ass to get at it either. I think the “leak” excuse is an insult to our intelligence. Comey feared a leak so he sent a letter to Jason Chaffetz that speculated negatively about HRC’s emails? Jason fucking Chaffetz!! That would guarantee a leak faster than FedEx could do it. Comey is a mother fucking piece of shit.
This is the Republicans’ special talent. Take a minor item in their favor and make it THE MOST IMPORTANT THING EVER, while simultaneously downplaying the dozens of major scandals against them as irrelevant.
In this hearing, the Ds should ask again and again and again: Didn’t then candidate Donald Trump publicly ask the Russians to hack Hillary Clinton? And: Didn’t Trump’s son and campaign manager and son-in-law meet with Russian officials in Trump tower, with Trump himself one floor above, and lied about it publicly?
The way you battle these “both sides” 98% vs 2% to continually remind everyone of the 98%.
I have to say that I am shocked, shocked to hear this. Never have I thought that NY FBI was leaking shit about HRC to the ghoul. Never have I thought that NY FBI leaks to the ghoul were the reason Comey spilled the e-mail bull shit. Never.

Rudy made it pretty obvious at the time that he and his cronies at the FBI NY field office where behind getting Comey to say publicly that the Hillz emails investigation was ongoing.
I believe it was most obvious when he was on TV rubbing his hands together telling the world that something big was coming.
I have seen very little written about Giuliani and the NY FBI Office over the last 36 months.
And I am now being exposed to it with Horowitz’ testimony.
