‘Holy Smokes’: Capitol Police IG Says There’s No Oversight Over The Force’s Board

I understand why Kolomoisky would support Zelinsky for election hoping to get what he wanted from Zelinsky. I just don’t understand if Kolomoisky got what he wanted from Zelinsky or whether he got stiffed.

Mixed bag. Kolomoisky had been living in exile after falling out with Poroshenko. Getting Zelensky to replace Poroshenko was Kolomoisky’s plan to come back to Ukraine. So that bit worked.

However, there’s also that bit about the $5 Billion that Kolomoisky wants for Privatbank which was taken from him. That was supposed to be delivered, and has not been (we played a role in that, making nice third-party threats about funding for Ukrainian debt through the World Bank if they gave Kolomoisky the money-- really interesting intrigue behind that one, involving us helping to sideline one proposed head for the bank for a different one, all wrapped up in the same game).

All in all, I’d venture that Zelensky has been an utter disappointment for both Kolomoisky and for Russia, the two entities most responsible for him getting to where he is.

Exactly why he’s been a disappointment involves things that we don’t yet really know about, whether it’s because the Nationalists have a hold on him, whether he’s got something else going on, or (God Forbid) he’s actually an idealist somewhat similar to the role he played on television.

I like that it’s at least a mixed bag and not a total win for him. For the crap he has been pulling in the US, I hope he rots in jail and then in hell after that. And that Kasowitz and others who have been helping him suffer worse fates.

Whatever Zelinsky’s motivation, the best case seems to be that Kolomoisky doesn’t have enough dirt on Zelinsky to sink him. I always assumed that he did and waited for the other shoe to drop but it never did.

The architect…?

Zelensky was a patsy, a literal tv comedian. No indication of anything significant in his past, he was just the one they thought they could easily control while they pulled all the strings in the background.

I was on the list of folks extremely worried that he’d turn everything over and surrender to Russia, for whatever reason, he seems to have managed to escape that and is far closer to the West than we ever hoped to see there.

Well, not in his own name, no…

Guess we will see which if Putin is going to use that troop buildup on the border to start a war instead of playing Grand Old Duke of York.

It seems to be quite a powerful position. I guess “the super” wasn’t a fancy enough title.

Doubt it. We’ve had troops in Ukraine training and equipping their folks for almost seven years now, Putin isn’t so stupid as to get into a hot war which will not go so easily as with Crimea.

Were you expecting The Accountant?

A hallmark of the hearings so far has been buck-passing.

Meaning, power plays.

In September, an anonymous donor sent $25 to the legal fund of Kyle Rittenhouse, an 18-year-old charged with fatally shooting two men at a protest last summer, along with a note of support proclaiming, “You’ve done nothing wrong. Every rank and file police officer supports you. Don’t be discouraged by actions of the political class of law enforcement leadership.”

Last week, a data breach revealed exactly who had sent that message and money, according to a report by the Guardian: Norfolk Police Lt. William K. Kelly.

Now, the city of Norfolk has fired Kelly, formerly the No. 2 official in the Norfolk Police Department’s internal affairs division, after an internal investigation found he had violated city and department policies by sending the donation and note.

They knew it all. We already know–and this reporting is confirming–that the idea of hollowing-out all independent oversight, legal enforcement, LEOs, etc pervaded the POTUS 45 admin. They were always setting up for (a) the grift and (b) the coup and (c) the authoritarian dictatorship.

It’s all going to come out.

The stupid motherfucker has (at least temporarily) nuked his career over a piss ant $25 donation and a chance to Bro-down with a murderous pasty-faced teenager.

He marched them to the front and then he marched them home again.

Holy shit! Another case of government fuck-up! Oh well, who cares? Sad!

Pretty sure he got stiffed. Zelinsky’s more Franken than Trump on the TV personality spectrum. For what it’s worth, stiffing the would-be-puppeteer that stupidly put him in power is pretty much the plot of his TV show (which he largely wrote himself, if I remember correctly).
