More than 100 top directors, producers and Hollywood stars have issued a letter to Comcast and NBCUniversal executives protesting the timing of Thursday’s scheduled event with President Donald Trump, which is set to air during rival network ABC’s town hall with Democratic nominee Joe Biden.
Even Rachel was quietly mocking NBC last night along with Kamala.
Giving Trump airtime is fine, that really did need to happen. Putting him in a slot opposite Biden is idiotic, they should have put Trump on an hour later so that people could get a direct comparison between the two. It’s useless now, people who watch one will, at most, get the highlights of the other. NBC could have helped democracy with this, instead they just added to Trump’s attempt to interfere with the ability of Biden to reach Americans with his message.
And, now we know why Trump was so upset with not being able to face off with Biden, because he would have been throwing the new Hunter “controversy” (fake as it is) at him for the entire debate. Yes, the timing of this release was planned in advance…we’ll get a similar Hunter item next week before the final debate.
They could tape it and run it tomorrow. NBC execs could do alot of things but they won’t. It is all about the ratings and ad $$$'s. This has become pathetic. He will run over Savannah Guthrie like a bull dozer.
One of the following for the Trump Town Hall
(1) With actual cross-section of voters: a disaster
(2) With paid sycophants as “voters”: a disaster (meaning, a rally, which pleases only 35%-40%)
Biden should push his town hall back an hour and let the country see Trump unhinged in all it’s flaming glory. Then step in front of the cameras afterword and show the world the calming presence we’re all clamoring for.

Per the Associated Press, NBC said in a statement that
“the Trump campaign did not dictate or request the time slot nor express any preference.”
LIARS - or - IDIOTS - or ACTIVE MANIPULATING ENABLERS !
There is a reason (not a good one, but valid in the Comcast Boardroom) for NBC to do this.
With the race all but over, and Trump out of money, the Trump and RNC ad-buys that Comcast had EXPECTED to cash in on in the waning weeks of the campaign have begun to DRY UP. On top of that, there will not be any more Debates, nor any more TV-Ready Campaign Rallies that have any possibility of getting a big TV audience.
SO, in an attempt to salvage their projected ad-buy cash-flow, NBC offers to hold an EXCLUSIVE Town Hall (that they get all the ad-money eyeballs from.)
It’s pure capitalism, Democracy-be-damned.
BUT, this IS Comcast we are talking about here, remember that. They have NO ALLEGIANCES to anyone, nor do they actually CARE who wins the election. They just want the MONEY this will generate.
Trump is always good for a fast buck to be made by the MSM so they indulge him endlessly.
Train-Wrecks get much better viewership ratings than solemn debates do.

Hopefully low viewership shall be their reward.
Likely that this was the ONLY WAY that Trump would agree to do it. Directly Opposite to Biden, so he can crow about how “I GOT BETTER RATINGS THAN BIDEN!!!” because that is the only thing he cares about.
After all, Trump is not running to get re-elected. Trump is running to get his “White House Reality Show” RENEWED.
Once you understand that mindset, everything becomes clear.
