Really? Why would a total phoney, preaching small town family values, with a family full of teenage pregnancies, divorce, drugs and inter-family violence would be popular anywhere. And she is not even hot anymore.

I’m not a musician, can’t really play any instruments, and have a very rudimentary knowledge of theory, but one of the things that got me through some tough times in college in the 80’s was his and Coltrane’s output, a decade musically dominated by hair bands and synth pop. Even Miles sort of got into it with his cover of Time After Time.

I heard that Jaco was bipolar and attempted to deal with his condition by self- medicating. Tragically, he was beaten to death at a club after a dispute with a bouncer down here in Fort Lauderdale. A truly tragic loss of a rare talent.

In the mid 80’s before Jaco was killed he used to frequent a number of NYC clubs. Folks said that he had his share of issues most likely due to his bipolar condition.
