Well, Dianne has clearly been tired of her job ever since she bear-hugged graham.

She’s not senile, but she’s not anything like good enough for the job now.

What I notice from all the DC types getting covid is how few of these wealthy and powerful people actually die, or even have a bad time of it, while the poor and black and brown people are dying in droves. There’s nothing like equal access to all the best healthcare. -insert snark

If we can’t get term limits; can we at least have some sort of cognitive test after a lawmaker turns 80 years old?

It’s everywhere, folks. As per plan.

I heard about Walberg on Monday. That guy is a total dick. He’s always been a total hypocrite and way before he took office. None of these Republican mofos want to say how they’re really doing. They just want to come out afterwards to state that it was really no big thing, that they didn’t suffer badly and are able to continue with their work with no after-effects since the myth must carry on. They’ve spent the last several months propagating that nonsense. Why change now? You never hear how they’re doing or what it was really like for them during their time except to say its no biggie. Keeping up appearances is all you’ll see, even if it did take a lot out of them physically. Nothing can or will compromise their sense of invincibility where the public is concerned. Also, the best healthcare in the country for the most privileged assholes seems to help many of them more so than most people.

As for DiFi…fuck her. She used to be a good Senator but something has happened to her in her old age. Now she’s a fucking embarrassment. Time to retire, Senator. She really doesn’t need that pension they get after so many years, does she? She already starts out more privileged than most these days. I find her hard to tolerate these days. So many faux pas.

Shouldn’t the headline read “Federal Lawmakers” vs “DC Lawmakers”? I live in DC and immediately thought the story was going to be about local DC politicians. Also, we hate it when everybody else blames “DC” for all of the nation’s problems. Instead, it’s actually the 50 states sending us their dysfunction.

Early on when the pandemic hit the US I was in a grocery store in St. Louis County and I over heard a woman with her husband, both were maskless, tell someone that she and her husband had either tested positive, or were awaiting the results. Back then I appalled by them wandering around a grocery store maskless, but now I’m pissed.
I will say in the last couple of weeks when I’ve been running errands I’ll get out my car and take a few steps and realize that something is wrong, it’s because I forgot to put my mask on. I don’t know why it’s happening now, but at least I recognize that I must be more aware or present in the situation.
Yesterday we went into lockdown mode again. Not as severe ( at least for my activities) as it was in the spring, but that we had to do this again is disheartening. The strange thing is I haven’t heard as many sirens as in the previous weeks. But I guess they’ll be coming.

We in Cali may not have to wait for Dianne to end out her term. Looks like she’s seeing herself out.

Cheri Bustos, the future speaker of the House, gods help us.

Lucky for them this isn’t one cluster. Where everyone was close and exposed for hours relentlessly. If it was, we would be seeing critical cases.

Made me wonder if lucky for us thou?

Best thing that could happen. Then Newsom can appoint someone younger and more progressive.

Oops I said the inside thing out loud.

COVID-19 Doesn’t care if you believe in basic hygiene. Take a moment and have a rational internal discussion concerning your desire to live through this fustercluck.

They’re called elections, and sadly don’t seem to work as well as they should.

You just know that all the old GOP Senators have been working their butts off to make sure she understands she is a member of their club, not one of the hoi polloi, not to mention one with those gauche young Senatorial upstarts like (shudder) Obama was.

All these people got the virus before a vaccine was available to them, which should cause them to think a bit.
